It’s a dog’s life at the beach

The rising temps this weekend had everyone out with their pups enjoying some fresh air.  We took our Gracey for a walk at GHB to get some fresh air and make some new friends!

BREAKING NEWS: PAPRIKA GRILL ROBBED

Dear Readers,

I am not sure the exact details and don’t want to post inaccurately until we learn more, but what we do know is that Paprika Grill, the new restaurant on Washington Street, was robbed yesterday. No one was injured and the Gloucester Daily Times will surely be bringing the facts. As a community let’s show them our support. I’ll be picking up lunch there today, even if the food wasn’t fantastic, but it is, and the owner Emrah Arslan is friendly and very hardworking. Everything on the menu is super delicious and I especially LOVE their felafel with salad–simply outstanding! Dinner for the family too some night this week 🙂

Paprika Grill is located at 185 Washington Street, kitty corner to George’s Coffee Shop. They are open from 11am to 9pm daily. For take out call (978) 551-8186.

See Joey’ excellent post about paprika Grill here.

I quick clean up on a @webergrills DE Code Smokey Joe Gold

Joey Ciaramitaro's avatarNortheast BBQ

The Smokey Joe Gold’s are nice because the bar you see clipped on the handle serves dual purpose.  One to keep the whole unit together when transporting which makes it the ultimate small beach grill.  Secondly when folded down it acts as a lid holder so you simply slide the lid down in between the rod and it holds the hot lid in place when you want to access the grill grates.

I used extra fine steel wool which can be purchased at the dollar store, a dish rag and some dishwashing soap.  Just like new.

NEW SEASON WITH DUCKWORTH’S BISTROT AND LIT HOUSE BOOK CLUB EVENTS

Chef Ken Duckworth out did himself in the fabulous and delicious department!

Jenn did an outstanding job leading the discussion last night at The Great Gatsby book club event. A mandatory high school English class read for many, nonetheless, it was very enjoyable to read again, and especially interesting in light of our current political climate.

A wonderful day at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge

On Sunday with the sun and warm temperatures, Rick and I decided to go to the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge.  Heard there was a beautiful Barred Owl and went on the prowl.  We were not disappointed.  The owl was hiding in the trees but we could see such a beautiful bird.
