Parenting Hack: Board games, a toy kitchen & cocktails

sam's avatarcapeanneats

Do you have kids? If the answer is yes, then you need to check out Happy Belly.  You can have great food, COCKTAILS [or wine] and your kids don’t have to sit still. I repeat, siting still is not required.

Just think: You don’t have to juggle your desire to have an adult conversation with your role as restaurant-crayon conflict negotiator (we all have been there, when every child needs to use the blue crayon at that moment or they may die).

PLUS your kids will actually have fun too!

Happy Belly is open for breakfast, lunch & dinner at 3 Duncan Street in Gloucester http://www.HappyBellyGloucester.com 978.317.7571

Off the island…Kansas City

We are enjoying a beautiful few days in Kansas City and especially some Baseball in our annual field tour!  We are hitting our 12th ballpark here at Kaufman Field.

One thing we try to do each year while we enjoy the game and tour the fields is fund what delicacy each park is infamous for.   Kaufman Field boasts the “pulled pork patty melt” which is a funnel cake, with pulled pork, cheddar and Monterey cheese, jalapeño, onion straws and coleslaw sprinkled with powdered sugar.   Sounds unappetizing but surprisingly it was pretty good!  The second item was a sunrise dog which was a hot dog with sausage gravy, bacon, cheese and fried egg on top.  That one was not so appetizing lol!

Gloucester Fishermen Pride in Maui

Check out this car spotted in Maui!

Despite the fact that they’re not representing GMG, it’s pretty cool to see the Gloucester Pride being displayed so far away.

Thanks to Peter Horovitz for snapping this photo!

Free Admission at Sargent House Museum Today Friday August 25, 2017!

Shannon Cardinal's avatarCape Ann Community

The Sargent House Museum invites you to attend our Free Back to School Internship Day on Friday, August 25, 2017, from 12:00 – 4:00 PM. While the event is free to the public, donations are encouraged in order to support our Summer High School Internship Program in the hopes of expanding the program in the future.

Unlike our traditional tours, the Back to School Internship Day is an opportunity for the public to explore the house at their leisure while our interns educate visitors in each room. The Summer High School Internship Program provided students with an opportunity to explore the life, times, writings, and home of Judith Sargent Murray, a pioneering advocate of women’s education and equality. That said, this event is the culminating event for the internship program which consisted of a ten-week project-based program individually designed and executed by each intern. Interns’ projects explored areas…

Flags on the Boulevard

Joey–I was going through some pictures I took during our visit to Gloucester this past June and noticed you can pretty clearly see the name of the person being remembered on one of the flags flying at the time.
I thought you might like to share the picture with a shout out to the Dana Curcuru family.  It’s such a great project and the flags on the Boulevard always look so nice and do Gloucester proud.  Hope to see you soon.  Pat D

The Place on the Docks That Redefines “Place on the Docks”
