FOB Doug Brendel’s daughter Lydia represents! — and stars as the *itch in Neil Simon’s hilarious comedy Rumors at Ipswich High School Feb. 9-11.
ABOUT THE PLAY: Five couples gather for a swanky anniversary party… but the honorees are oddly missing! Assumptions and innuendo lead to hilarious conclusions as the party guests try to figure out just what’s going on… before the cops show up! Ipswich High School presents this delicious farce for ONE WEEKEND ONLY February 9-11 with evening performances on Friday and Saturday, and matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday at the Dolan Performing Arts Center, 134 High Street in Ipswich. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students/seniors, and are available at Ticketstage.com and at the door. (Double cast: See Lydia Brendel opening night or Saturday afternoon.)

Cold doesn’t turn this good cause away

Recently we were out and about in Magnolia and watched a little story unfold in front of our eyes. A flock of geese flew in over our heads. For a minute, it looked like they were going to land at our feet.

But instead, some settled on land nearby, and some decided to see how the water was.

The swimmers got whirled around as though they were in a washing machine

And eventually made their way to shore. All the while, the geese are calling to each other back and forth from water to shoreline as if they were playing the children’s game “Marco Polo”.

A single goose flew from the group on land to check on the swimmers. We felt as though this goose was saying “I’m telling Mom!”

The group was reunited after most of the swimmers came ashore and they took off for destinations unknown. Game over.

AMENDOLA IS TRENDING- The 2018 #MuseumBowl twitter throwdown between the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and the Philadelphia Museum of Art went down earlier today. Here are a few brags and barbs from the MFA twitter feed
And some counter shades from the Philadelphia Museum of Art (I knew they were going to use the Rubens). Nice touch on that crisco photoshop 🙂 I’ll be happy when that West Benjamin Franklin will be loaned out to the MFA. You can check out the complete humorous battle by searching #MuseumBowl and/or following the museums’ twitter accounts @Philamuseum and @MFABoston. Fun to see the Clark and Davis joining in to side with the MFA. The MFA video of the conservation puppy (and new art world star mascot) tearing apart the eagle chew toy was tough to top.
