New Restorative Yoga Class with Linda at MAGMA (Movement Arts Gloucester MA) Thursdays 11:30-12:30 (right after 10:15am Nia class)
Restorative Yoga Class, 11:30-12:30 at MAGMA (right after Nia class that runs from 10:15-11:15am)
This is one of the favorite post in my classes, legs on a chair. Catchy title, eh?
Seriously it’s great for low back discomfort, leg pain, swelling, circulation, etc.
Come tomorrow and you can look as relaxed as this participant.
If you have never tried Restorative Yoga, it is a relaxing and nurturing practice that allows the body and mind to relax and well, restore. All you need to do is sit or lie on a mat with your body supported by bolsters, blocks and blankets. I do all the work. No energy or expertise required for you. The benefits of the practice include better sleep, less anxiety, gentle stretching of the body especially the chest and shoulders, etc.
Hope to see you soon!
Linda

BREAKING: WINGS OF FREEDOM VINTAGE B-17 BOMBER CRASHES
Reports are coming in that the Collings Foundation World War II B-17G bomber crashed into a building at the Bradley International Airport. Three people were injured.
“The B-17 and B-24 were the backbone of the Allied bomber campaign against Nazi occupied Europe. Army Air Forces crews flew the bombers from bases in England and Italy. The bombers also were used the Pacific theater.”
This is the same plane that was in Beverly last month for the “Wings of Freedom” tour. My husband usually goes to the see the vintage planes every year and many of us love hearing the distinctive rumble of their engines overhead in the summertime.

Recycled Robots on Rocky Neck
I walked by Gallery 53 on Rocky Neck the other day and was smitten with this robot in the window. Upon closer inspection I noticed the sign stating that the Summer Art Series #4 “Recycled Robots” is on display until October 15th. I hope to get back to see this guy’s friends.

AYURVEDIC VEGETABLE STEW
The makings of any Ayurvedic soup starts with warming ghee, adding the spices & giving it a good swirl. Ghee helps the body to better absorb the antioxidants found in these sweet warming spices, & also helps to infuse the flavors.

Seaside Garden Club’s October 8th Meeting
Confessions of a Garden Fanatic, Still Crazy after all these years
Linda Lipton will present a power-point view of her historical garden in Salem, MA. With her husband Fred, they created a backyard garden that was featured in the summer 2018 issue of North Shore Home Magazine. They used sequential steps to create their landscaped garden from scratch. Topics in this entertaining idea-filled, PowerPoint lecture include: honoring the historical context of a garden site, creating a feeling of authenticity and charm in a New England garden and getting designer results in a DIY garden. Visit https://www.nshoremag.com/northshore-home/salems-secret-garden/ to see the magazine article.
