Feather and Wedge Local Crab and Avocado Salad Using Local Crabmeat Was Outstanding

My View of Life on the Dock

If you’re searching for a great movie to watch, rent the movie featuring Kurt Russell. I could watch it a hundred times over and still get nostalgic.
Ayurvedically speaking our lunch should be made fresh and be the biggest meal of the day.
Having a big lunch is important because the sun, pitta energy (element of fire, energy of transformation!), and our agni (digestive fire), are all in alignment. This means big, lots o’ fire to digest big, lots o’ food! Our digestive fire is the strongest it will be all day long and it’s looking for a big meal to work on. If we wait to have our biggest meal at dinner, there is no fire left in nature or in us, so the food sits like a big blob in our bellies until the next day. Yuck!
Put the salad down…

2/22/2020 – Twin lights, beach chairs, Long Beach Gloucester & Rockport, Mass.
plus the same or warmer weather for the next 2 days!

The crane at the Magnolia Pier is so big, the road is closed. The workers were drilling down some pilings today and you can see the dust coming from the pilings. Very exciting.

News from Passports Restaurant

As I mentioned, a movie was being filmed on Crane Estate when I visited this week, but they kindly allowed me in to take the drive around I had planned on. Even in the dead of winter, this place is pretty spectacular. I have a Trustee membership, so access is free until March 31 and I thought that seemed like a pretty good deal. Maybe you will too.
I was happy to see the statues all wrapped up against potential winter damage. Here’s some additional information on the Grand Allée.
There are seasonal and year-round homes and condos for sale in Gloucester and Rockport right now. The Cape Ann Waterfront Guide is an easy way for you to receive up-to-the-minute information on pricing, size, bedrooms and the pulse of the market, all via email.

A question often asked – do bird feeders help or hurt birds? A thoughtful analysis from Cornell:

Cornell All About Birds
By Emma Greig
“…There are some clear benefits of feeding birds. We know that some regular feeder visitors, such as Northern Cardinals, are doing very well, because their populations are growing and ranges expanding. But supplementary feeding has also been associated with negative impacts such as disease transmission, deaths from window strikes (when birds fly away from a feeder and into a house), and increased predation pressures (such as Cooper’s Hawks feeding themselves by feasting on feeder birds). Can we reconcile these disparate consequences of bird feeding and determine if feeding is actually harmful on a broad scale?”
