**PopUp Shop next weekend Sat and Sun the 12th and 13th 10am to 3pm at Last Stop Variety 273 East Main St Gloucester – Hold Fast Co. which is owned by Deanna Fay Anaya and Deb Berger, who make amazing all natural soaps, spoon butter (which Anna Eves has used to revive her mother’s wooden spoons) environmentally friendly beeswax wraps, must have gorgeous rope baskets and wreaths – seriously these make such great gifts, are hosting it and Anna will be there with Cape Ann Sea Salt Co salts and a new nautical flag Product from her Cape Ann Giclee Hometown Graphics line along with word collages and nautical maps.

Anna will bring along some Joey C prints that are always a hit. There will be some affordable great stocking stuffer earrings too. And breaking news – Hannah Kimberley and Anna will be introducing our brand new product called “Speakeasy Potions” which are fruit, herbal and spice infusion kits for infusing booze to make awesome cocktails at home!

Bex will be there with her lobster trap ornaments and wreaths and trees – always a big hit and a must have for every Cape Ann home during the holidays. And the very talented Melissa Cox will have her photos and cards for sale too!

Generous Gardeners Flower Cards

Gift idea!! Generous Gardeners has created photo notecards (blank inside) from David Cox’s beautiful photos taken this year. There are two different sets of five cards. Thumbnail pictures of one set are below. They are $15 each set and available at David’s store, Main Street Arts & Antiques, at 124 Main Street in Gloucester. These are not available online for the holiday season so stop by his shop to check them out. He will also have a limited quantity of tulip cards that we have had available in the past. A great gift to give, as well as help Generous Gardeners through the proceeds!

CAPE ANN CINEMA – DON WHITE: LIVE (THURS. DEC. 10 @ 7PM) – FREE SHOW!

This event will be interactive – meaning that Don and the audience will be able to hear laughter and applause as it happens. At the end of the show, there will be an after party with Don and maybe a surprise guest or two!

The show is FREE. There will be a virtual tip jar. A portion of the money donated will be gifted to the Cape Ann Community Cinema.

There is no one-word description for what Don White does. He’s an award-winning singer/songwriter, a comedian, an author, and a storyteller. Understandably there is no Middle Street Walk 2020, so Middle Street looks different this season. There is an endearing Dinosaur visiting. Ho Ho Ho ha ha ha!

Thomas E. Lannon All Decked Out

The Thomas E. Lannon is all decked out and looking great at the Seven Seas Wharf by the Gloucester House on Rogers Street as it rides out the winter season. If you follow them on Facebook (link here), you will see they have some awesome swag available: hoodies, caps, shirts (look in the left column down a little bit on the Facebook page). If you go to their webpage (link here) you can purchase gift certificates for sails in the upcoming season. It’s been one of my favorite gifts from Santa…….hint…hint…GMGJim!

Another Week Close to Home

First, heartfelt thanks to the NationalGrid crew that made it out here during the Saturday storm, soon after we lost power. The poles are pretty inaccessible in the Audubon Sanctuary, and a second truck was called in to cut a path in the right-of-way by chain saw. In the dark they made repairs. The lineman admitted afterward that it was a pretty challenging climb in the driving rain – our anemometer showed gusts to 58mph.

Our veteran feeder provided entertainment all week; Red-bellied Woodpecker
We added a suet cage, and the diners showed their appreciation
But competition continued at the feeder, with today’s snowy background
