In the category of Things-You-Might-Not-Know-But-Should….. The Gloucester Police Department recently had 9 officers complete the 26.2 Mile Tough Ruck around Gloucester! The Tough Ruck is sponsored by the BAA (Boston Athletic Association) and on October 2nd all 9 officers were awarded 125th Boston Marathon Medals!
In doing so, they raised $5,580! Congratulations to them all! Yet another way these guys make Gloucester proud on a daily basis! The money raised goes to support the families of fallen service members (read more below).
You can still Donate right HERE! Please consider doing so.
The officers who completed the Tough Ruck were Joe Catarino, David Quinn, Brian Aiello, Michal Cimoszko, Anthony Trupiano, Dylan Morrissey, Josiah Aberle, Brendan Chipperini, and Rob Morrissey.
Learn more about the Tough Ruck HERE: https://www.toughruck.org/
Tough Ruck Nation is group of military, first responders and civilians whose sole purpose is to Ruck in honor and in memory of our Fallen Service Members, Police, Firefighters and EMTs, while raising funds to support our warriors and families of the Fallen. We will march with our Rucks and carry the names of our Fallen comrades with us.
On April 15, 2013, the Tough Ruck members were at the finish line of the Boston Marathon and joined the first responders to help those that were injured by the horrific blasts. They truly exemplify the best of what our Nation is. Today the Tough Ruck’s signature event Tough Ruck 26.2 Boston, held in partnership with the Boston Athletic Association/Boston Marathon happens the weekend before Marathon Monday in Concord, Massachusetts. Each year Tough Ruck 26.2 Boston finishers are awarded the first of the official Boston Marathon Medals and receive recognition from the Boston Athletic Association. Military Friends Foundation (37-1462599) is the official charity of Tough Ruck Nation.

It seems we are going to be having some nasty weather this week so I thought it might be a good time for some reminders of how beautiful fall has been. I have a feeling these pretty leaves will be gone once we get past this current weather pattern. FOB Bex Borden recently invited me to tour the grounds at Moraine Farm in Beverly. Bex is one of the volunteers there and spent part of her afternoon with me sharing the history and the beauty of the area. It was classic fall beauty and I thought you might enjoy. Thank you Bex! For further information, here’s the website Bex shared with me.
