My View of Life on the Dock
Dave says, I’ve got a treat for ya this week. A new singer (for me anyway) in the form of a classical sireeen. I’m talking’ bout Ms. Mari Martin. Not to be confused with she who’s gonna wash that man right outa her hair. Or some androgynous weenie flying around in a green suit. This is the real deal. She is truly a vocal blunderbuss and will knock you out. This gal was rescued from a life of gargling with razor blades in a piano bar by none other than Marque Earley, who promptly sent her to me. Let’s see what we can do. In keeping with this program I have assembled a tight crackpot unit to back her up. We have Marque Earley on tenor and baritone kazoo and saxophone, Mr. Jon Cameron, on his organ again, Mr. Bob Enik, the spackler, on guitar, who knows how to fill in the cracks, and me, on base bringing up the rear. We’re all really looking forward to this and hope you’ll all come out and cheer for the local girl! We’re nothing without you!

There’s been a lot of Comments on The post: https://goodmorninggloucester.wordpress.com/2012/10/21/what-would-you-like-to-see-fill-the-space-vacated-by-five-guys/
When I first heard that 5guys were going there I didn’t think they had a chance. Burgers and fries and that’s it? They need a bigger choice of menu items. I feel bad for the guys who started that Franchise. They were really energized.
Of course most of these people commenting are wrong. Here are my Thoughts. ![]()
Japanese? we have Midori’s, Lat 43, the Madfish for raw fish.
Boston Market is on their way out.
I would love a KFC TACO BELL but they don’t have any drive thru options up there.
Indian food may work well in a downtown location but not at GC. WHAT THE HECK IS INDIAN FOOD ANYWAYS? They don’t eat meat, Right?
What the “F” is a Steak and Shake is that the Mad cow disease?
Starbucks? Overpriced burnt coffee.
Average Joe’s? Never been there so I can’t comment.
Bertuccis? We don’t need no stinkin’ fake Italian Restaurant here.
Never heard of Londi’s, Cosi’s and the other’s to comment on.
But most of you are wrong unless you agree with my list below
THERE’S PLENTY OF OPEN STORE FRONTS THERE BESIDES FIVE GUYS TO HAVE A TRADER JOE’S (WHICH I LOVE).
OR A BED BATH AND WHATEVER.
I’D LIKE TO SEE IN THIS ORDER AT THE 5GUYS STORE;
1. Qudoba
2. Panera Bread
3. KFC/TACO BELL
and of Course Fred ,Sista Felicia’s Restaurant would a be a great addition to The West End.
GC Is too mall like for the kind of food Felicia cooks. Her place needs charm to go with that food.

The Finback is about 85 Rubber Ducks long.
Homie and half a dozen of his pals were working on this piece. Maybe some jaw with baleen attached.
Only a guess that there might be 5 or 6 tons of whale. In a few weeks it might be dangerous to be downhill of the body because when she pops there may be quite a landslide of whale innards. Also why I am not saying exactly where it is. It’s cute and all but better left to the winter storms. Another unit of measure is on a scale of one to ten, what does Homie think of it? Ten being potato chips and one being an old sock. Right now Homie thinks it only rates a 3 right up there with a dried three week old fish rack. That number might even drop once she really starts ripening. The blow hole flies might not lay eggs since we are past frost but there are a few smaller type flies interested.
My advice is to find it in the spring when there will be a cool set of whale bones that no one can touch because that is illegal or else a winter storm or three will send her on her way to Nova Scotia.
