We try to get out onto the water at least once a week during the summer. While we were on the Ardelle recently for the Battle of Gloucester, the winds were kicking up and created some challenges for the captains.

The annual Gloucester Fishtown Horribles Parade starts Friday, July 3, at 6:00 PM from the Gloucester High School, followed by fireworks at 9 PM over City of Gloucester, MA, front harbor!

🚦 Traffic Advisory: Expect significant traffic congestion, road closures, and delays throughout downtown Gloucester before, during, and after the parade. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate routes when possible, and allow extra travel time. Please follow posted detours and directions from public safety personnel.

🚗 Stacey Boulevard Parking:

No parking on Stacey Boulevard from 12:00 a.m. through 6:00 a.m. on July 3.

Any vehicles parked in the area before 6:00 a.m. are subject to ticketing and/or towing.

🪑 Parade Route Reminders:

Chairs, blankets, and other items used to reserve spots along Stacey Boulevard and the parade route are not permitted before 12:00 p.m. on July 3.

Items placed before noon may be removed by the Department of Public Works (DPW).

Ropes, cones, chains, caution tape, or any other items used to create or reserve perimeter areas are prohibited.

🎇 Following the parade, enjoy the spectacular fireworks display at 9:00 PM along Stacey Boulevard.

Gloucester Stage Fort Park Shuttle Public Survey

The City of Gloucester & the Cape Ann Transportation Authority (CATA) are reviewing the Stage Fort Park Shuttle bus route to identify opportunities to improve bus service, reduce traffic, and make it easier to access Downtown Gloucester and destinations like Good Harbor Beach.

This survey is aimed at visitors, locals, and business owners who are interested in an improved summer shuttle service in Gloucester. Prior experience riding the Stage Fort Shuttle is not required to complete this survey.

We want to understand more about your experience traveling to and around Downtown Gloucester, as well as using the Stage Fort Park Shuttle (if applicable). Please take this quick 3-5 minute survey to help us identify what has been working well and what can be improved. Please see the map below showing the Gloucester study area and current shuttle route.

Here’s my “Wrap-Up” post celebrating Fiesta 2026 including some images that I just like which seem to express the spirit of the weekend. Once again, the Committee and volunteers did an outstanding job scheduling and running events to suit a variety of interests. Special kudos to the organizers of the seine boat races who had weather related challenges to deal with. On to the 100th next year! Ah yes, that week between Fiesta and Fourth of July. A special time here in Gloucester. And The Cut has you covered for Live Entertainment!

Wednesday it’s Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers. There are still tickets available for this rock show from the band that was dubbed “The Springsteen of the Southwest,” by the Asbury Park Press! Doors at 7pm. Show at 7:30pm

Thursday we are thrilled to have Johnny A Syndicate up on The Cut stage! Come rock out with grammy-nominated guitarist Johnny A and his star-studded new band! There are still some tickets available, both seated and GA. Doors at 7pm. Show at 7:30pm.

Friday night is for the Beach Boys fans. Join us for a night of nostalgia & Pet Sounds Live! There are still some tickets available. Doors at 7pm. Show at 8pm.

Saturday it’s Tell Me Lies – The Fleetwood Mac Experience in the venue. This is a nationally touring Fleetwood Mac tribute that really delivers! There are still tickets available. Doors at 7pm. Show at 8pm.
DJ Vito will also be throwing it down in the restaurant starting at 9pm. After you catch some fireworks, come dance with us!

Sunday is a good recovery day. We will have 50 cent wings and FREE pool and live music from Mike O’Connell and Alen Estes, so come chill!
