Coveted Yarn Baby Hat Contest

At Coveted Yarn they have a fantastic contest in which everyone is a winner.  For every baby hat knitted and donated Coveted Yarn places an entry in for a drawing for a $50 gift certificate.  The baby hats then get donated to children wards at hospitals.  That’s a great idea in my book.  For all you knitters or people that want to learn how, swing by their shop on East Main Street next to Smoking Jim’s from 10-12 on Saturdays for free knitting lessons.

LURE OF CAPE ANN SALTWATER FISHING TOURNAMENT LOGO CONTEST

The first annual LURE OF CAPE ANN SALTWATER FISHING TOURNAMENT create a logo for the event with a contest. All entries must include the name of the tournament and whatever creative ideas you can come up with. The winning logo will receive a $50 Cape Ann Gift Certificate, and recognition of the artwork. The logo will be highly visible – and printed on brochures, t-shirts, banners, on our website and more. Please email your entry to judy@capeannchamber.com or bring it to the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce no later than January 2, 2009. Electronic artwork must be a minimum of 300 ppi resolution and needs to be provided in a JPG or TIF format. Cape Pond Ice Martini Funnel

This Martini Funnel breaks down to three pieces the top, bowl, the stem, and the base.  The Vodka or Gin gets poured in the top of the bowl and whooshes down through the ice into your glass (in the beginning of the night when everyone is behaved) or mouth(at the end of the night when everyone is hammered).

The film reveals that, for many members of the group — which is made up of Muslims, Jews, Christians, Hindus and atheists from 11 countries — making music is as second nature as breathing. A New Look for seARTS Wearable Arts Show & Fundraiser

For the second year, the seARTS wearable artists will hold a show and
fundraiser during the Middle Street Walk.  This year’s Artisans include:
Freida Grotjahn (Again & Again), Jan Weinshanker & Judy Wright (Apple Bay
Design),  Jacqueline Ganim-DeFalco (Cape Ann Designs), Candy Marshall,
Camilla MacFadyen, Marcia Settipani (Settipani Gallery),  Annabel Wildrick,
Meredith Anderson, Lee Cunningham, Mary Healy, Joanne Demetra, Margaret
Derby, Beth Williams, and Kate Seidman. .

In support of the Library, the  show participants have donated gift
certificates or a piece of their work to be used for a  Library fundraiser
and will   donate 15% of sales to support seARTS and its programs.

Times: Opening Reception  Friday, December 12th 4:00 to8:00 PM  shop while
enjoying refreshments and listening to classical guitarist Ken Bonfield.
