Please Welcome New GMG Contributor Craig Kimberly- St Peter’s Fiesta Parade Video and More
I have a feeling you’re really gonna like his stuff.
Born in Salem, Craig Kimberley is a director, cinematographer, editor, photographer. His family moved to Virginia in the late 70’s where he’s lived for the last 30 years. With hopes of moving to here soon, he’s vacationing in Gloucester with his sweet aunt, Joan Kimberley, on Washington street. The St. Peter’s Fiesta was a great welcome back weekend!
Look for his videos over the next few weeks sharing his return to Massachusetts. With a couple of photos mixed in, it should make for some fun content. Craig notes, “So far, everyone I’ve met has lived up to my greatest expectations of true New England character and class. Thanks to Joey, and Good Morning Gloucester, I’ve been given a fantastic venue to share my vacation adventures.” So stay tuned for more videos in the coming days!

Artists are invited to participate in Here & Now: Contemporary Artists Working in The Sargent House Museum Garden, a series providing working artists with an opportunity to interact with the residents and visitors of Cape Ann. Artists are encouraged to set up and work on their art in the garden, to talk to the public, to engage individuals in the artistic process, and expose individual work to a wide and varied audience.
The Sargent House Museum will provide artists with access to a restroom, a sink, and a refrigerator on site (for lunches). An eight-foot fold table will be available for use but must be covered to avoid damage from art materials.
Artists are encouraged to bring printed materials, such as postcards and business cards, for distribution to interested parties while they are working. Artists are also welcome to sell work while working in the garden; all transactions must be completed by the artist.
Artists will be provided with materials on The Sargent House Museum, which must be on display while they are working on site. Artists are also required to encourage guests who stop by to come into The Sargent House Museum for a guided tour of the site. Artists will be provided with visitor coupons with discounted admission for use that day.
Artists will be given Sunday dates on a first come, first serve basis. The series is weather dependent, as The Sargent House Museum does not have an appropriate indoor space to move art activities. If an artist’s selected Sunday is cancelled due to weather, The Sargent House Museum will make every effort to reschedule the day, but cannot guarantee the ability to reschedule.
Artists should arrive at The Museum thirty minutes prior to their event start, at 11:30 am. Artist must stay for the entire four -hour period, and must make their own arrangements for breaks/coverage of their set up space. Artists must breakdown and clean up their materials by 4:30 pm. Artists are required to carry out any trash that results from their art-making process. There is also no power available outdoors, so please plan accordingly.
If you have any questions, or would like additional information on the Here and Now series, please contact The Sargent House Museum’s Site Manager, Kate Laurel Burgess-Mac Intosh, at kburgess1@mac.com or call 978-412-5290.

Free Concert on the Boulevard From The Gloucester Fund and GimmeSound July 3rd
Dear Joey,
Ringo Tarr is at it again! Vickie and I are working with him to present a FREE CONCERT ON THE BOULEVARD on July 3rd with a twist: YOU GET TO COUNT DOWN TO THE FIREWORKS — but only if you’re there. See details below:
The Gloucester Fund and gimmesound.com present a Free Concert on the Boulevard (near the Blynman drawbridge at the corner of Centennial Ave.) on Sunday July 3 starting at 5pm.
5:00 – Henri Smith New Orleans Friends & Flavours kick off the fun.
6:00 – Horribles Parade passes right down the Boulevard.
7:00 – Henri Smith is back immediately after the parade
7:30 – The Runaround. Gloucester’s favorite high-energy band featuring ska, reggae, soul and more.
9:25 – COME HELP US COUNT DOWN TO THE FIREWORKS
The Boulevard crowd will count down to the fireworks. Be there and make your voice heard all the way across the harbor.
10:00 – Dance to the high energy Runaround with a special Jazz Fest Style Climax!
There’s no better way to celebrate our independence than with music, dancing and fireworks.
See you there!

Marian Freed Has Some Nice Things To Say
I wanted to tell you how much I’ve enjoyed your website. My husband and I spend about ten days in Rockport every summer. This year we were fortunate enough to spend the last two months in Rockport for my sabbatical. I read about GMG in an article in the Cape Ann Guide and subscribed to the site. We discovered wonderful things to do – the walking tour of the working harbor, sushi night at Lat 43, St. Peter’s Fiesta, yard sales, art galleries – and learned a lot in general about the people who live and work in the area.
We’re returning to NY this week and back to our workaday lives. I hope we’ll be back next summer for our usual visit. And I’ll resubscribe when we return.
You are truly fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Marian Freed
