Why don’t you stop by the Cape Ann Animal Aid (CAAA) in Gloucester and see for yourself! The CAAA is a non-profit shelter dedicated to finding loving homes for homeless cats and dogs.

Probably the most useful thing on there is the pictures of food which werenāt prepared special for the website, they were just photos of dishes they made for customers while I was there. Allso the menu with prices on it gives you an idea of just how affordable it is.
Last time there Dee Noble was there with 3 kids and the whole bill for sit down lunch was $20 and change. Seriously? How do you beat that?

United States Coast Guard Video Of The Plan B Sinking

BOSTON ā The 81-foot fishing vessel Plan B sank approximately eight miles east of Kennebunkport, Maine, after taking on water, Tuesday.
The two fishermen aboard were unable to control flooding and were rescued by a good Samaritan before the vessel sank about three and a half hours after it began taking on water in approximately 286 feet of water. A ruptured pipe may have caused the flooding.
Because the Plan B was listing on its port side, Coast Guard crews determined the boat wasn’t safe to board the vessel to pump the water out of the boat.
U.S. Coast Guard Station South Portland recovered the boat’s emergency beacon, life raft and several pieces of large debris.
The boat produced a diesel fuel sheen approximately 200-feet by 200-feet when it sank. The Coast Guard will continue to monitor the area for pollution, including a scheduled trip to the site by a Station South Portland boatcrew in the morning.
The Coast Guard protects the maritime ecosystems and natural resources important to our national economy and
essential to the livelihood and way of life for coastal communities.

I, like many others really miss seeing local personalities Dave and Lorre Anderson and their sweet and beautiful dog Chloe and newest family member, Kenzie at the Black Swan!Ā It was a sad day when they closed their doors, but I hear they have ānew beginningsā happening soon!! A reminder thatĀ Ā Ā Ā āwhen one door closesā¦, another opens.āĀ I wonder if GMG readers remember the āBuddha of Main Streetā Gloucester that rested outside their lovely store??! I am interested in hearing of the experiences they may have enjoyed when they encountered this lovely Buddha Statuary, and look forward to what GMG readers have to share. Registration for the 2012 Jr. and Sr. Legion Baseball team(s) will be held on March 10 and March 17 from 12:30 ā 2:30 p.m. at the Captain Lester S. Wass American Legion Post 3 on 8 Washington Street in Gloucester. Registration will be held on the ground floor, please use the bar entrance. To be eligible to play legion baseball you must be 13 years of age on or before January 1, 2012 and cannot have a birthday in the entire year of 1992. Medication Disposal Day in Gloucester
The Gloucester Medication Disposal program sponsored by Healthy Gloucester Collaborative is once again hosting a community medication disposal event in conjunction with the US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration Annual Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.Ā The Medication Disposal Day will take place on Saturday April 28th from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Rose Baker Senior Center, Six Manuel F. Lewis Street, Gloucester.
Items Accepted: Prescription and over-the-counter medications, Medication Samples, Vitamins, Narcotics, Liquid Medications
Items NOT Accepted, Sharps (sharps can be disposed of 24-7 in the main entrance of Addison Gilbert Hospital at the Sharps Kiosk).

If youāve been an FOB for any amount of time you know that from the hundreds of interviews I perform from my desk that I frame my subjects with two of my favorite things hanging on the wall in our office- The New York Post Cover of ARod with the huge caption āA-Holeā and the framed print of Jason Varitek stuffing his mitt up in ARodās grillpeice.
So the sports reporters will ask if his number deserves to be retired at Fenway to which I respond āAre you serious?ā

Announcing The Gloucester Blues Festival Saturday, August 11th, 2012
Itās a good time to give Good Morning Gloucester the news on our headliner for the Gloucester Blues Festival taking place in Stage Fort Park on Saturday, August 11th.
Shemekia Copeland is at the top of her game, and will thrill the blues lovers at Stage Fort Park this August. She performed earlier this week at the White House for President Barack Obama and shared the stage with blues luminaries like Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Jeff Beck, Keb Mo, Warren Haynes and Trombone Shorty.
On Monday night at 9:00 p.m., PBS will be broadcasting the show: āIn Performance at the White House Red, White and Bluesā. I urge our friends to tune in and get a small sampling of the powerful voice of Shemekia Copeland, the Queen of the Blues.
The Gloucester Blues Festival is a Paul Benjamin/Bob Hastings Production. Paul Benjamin is the producer of the North Atlantic Blues Festival in Rockland, Maine which attracts 16,000 people to the Maine waterfront each July:

Harold Burnham with Steve and Bruce are towing rough-cut logs back to Harold’s Essex Shipbuilding yard to be made into spars and gaffs for the Schooner ‘Adventure’. Harold and crew had cut and trimmed trees down last week on Hog island for the project.

Hello Joe,
The Rockets are looking for your help once again in getting the word out! All Pee Wee teams will be holding Softball sign ups shortly. If you are signing up for the Riverdale Rockets you can register online at riverdalerockets.com. Registration is $75 per player with a $135 family cap. The season will be starting shortly.

Cape Ann Brewing Photo Contest award Presentation Tonight
Cape Ann Brewing Company names Gloucester resident photo contest winner
On Tuesday, February 28th at 6 p.m., Cape Ann Brewing Company(CABC) will host an award ceremony in honor of Gloucester resident and photography enthusiast, Steve Borichevsky.
CABC invited the general public to submit photos of local scenes that would best reflects the spirit and courage of the North Atlantic fishing fleet. The winning photo replaces the original image on the Fishermanās Brew six pack. Borichevsky submitted the winning photo of a fishing vessel returning to itās home port of Gloucester Harbor, which was selected from over 40 images.
Free Community Concert at the Shalin Liu – Wednesday evening
Hi, Joey:
Rockport Music presents A FAR CRY, the youthful, self-conducted string orchestra, in a free community concert this Wednesday, February 29 at 7 PM at the Shalin Liu Performance Center. The concert is open to the public and no reservations are required. Rockport Music is also taking A Far Cry into the Rockport and Gloucester Public Schools for a two-day residency. The concert and residency would not be possible without the generous support of the Summer Star Foundation for Nature, Art, and Humanity.
