Hi Joey,
Caught a nice break in the clouds this morning along the Boulevard on the way to work.

This Webcam and more can be found at www.gloucesterwebcam.com
This www.gloucesterwebcam.com local webcam portal project was an idea I had last year to have as many webcams streaming from local businesses or organizations as possible which highlight the incredible vistas that we as people that live and work here get to enjoy each and every day.
The idea was to have the organization install the webcam, have them embed the webcam feed on their own websites as well and have a link to each business website on the Gloucester webcam portal website to showcase their business as well.
Tim Blakeley from Gloucester Bytes provided the initial installation at ridiculously cheap cost because he believed in the project.

Hey, Joey’s FOBs – I could use your help, as we’re just a few days away from sending the 2012 Discover Gloucester Visitor Guide to print: What are your best suggestions to include on the Visitor Guide’s "Rainy Day Fun" or "Free Things To Do" pages? Give me your best insider info!
I’m thrilled to tell you that 30 new partners have come on board in the Visitor Guide this year. This means that as a destination we’ll showcase a better representation of what is offered to a visitor and we’ll be able to do even more outreach to get more visitors to come here. Did you know there are over 60 places to eat in our area that are either on the water or you can see the water from your seat?! Eleven more restaurants are in the 2012 Visitor Guide, which is fantastic. Among the new entries is the newest in the City at 151 Main Street – Ohana New American Cuisine. Welcome aboard, Enx! Joey: Get over to Ohana soon- Enx’ buildout is on the fast track for opening in May!
Starting next week and as the season ramps up, you’ll be hearing from many of the fabulous tourism related venues on and off the island. How lucky are we to be surrounded by all this, huh?!

Lobster boats, dories, reflections off the water, symmetry, repetition, Gloucester at dawn, Rocky Neck In the background, Cape Pond Ice, the inner working harbor, there’s really not much this one is missing.
Available as an 8×10, 16×20 prints or 16x 20 canvas print which I think just make the reflections and colors pop in a painterly way (the Canvas wraps also don’t require framing).

Hi Joey-
I just got in from Ireland where I spent a fast week with my daughter Nora.
This picture is from Inisheer, one of the Aran Islands off Galway Bay on the west coast. I thought I was in Gloucester- surrounded by the sea. Fishing boats, granite everywhere, a bar on every corner, and the NICEST people. See you soon!

I’ll be off for the next few weeks so hold off on the press releases til I get back.

Dating a smoker asks-
Joey,
Do you date a smoker when you hate it but they are a quality person. Everything about them is wonderful they just smoke?
Dear “Dating a Smoker”
I guess you gotta ask yourself how hot they are.
You’re not talking about marriage, you’re talking about dating. So if you’re all good with kissing an ashtray because they are an absolute smoke show in your eyes then go for it. If you are used to dating sixes I figure the smoker would have to be an eight or better to make the juice worth the squeeze. If you normally date fours they would have to be a six or better. You can overlook a little smokers cough if they have a superstar ass or diamond shaped calves or a handsome face.
You have to feel terribly sorry for people addicted to smoking. Seeing these poor bastards standing outside of restaurants in the freezing cold drizzling weather just to grab a smoke, stink up their breath, ruin their health and waste their money is sad. No rational person continues to smoke when you take into consideration the countless negatives.
I should add that if kissing the ashtray mouth of the smoker makes you want to vomit you can throw all this advice out the window because I’m thinking there’s just no getting past it for you.
For the youngsters out there that might be reading this-
Don’t start.
It isn’t cool to smoke. Not one, not “only when you drink”. It’s really never cool to smoke. It kills, you stink, your teeth turn yellow, your clothes stink, your house stinks, you blow money you could be using to drive a nicer car, to save for your education, your retirement or nice vacations. Just do yourself a favor and don’t get started. After heroin it’s about the next highest thing on the stupid meter you could ever do to yourself.
as always send in your Ask Joey C relationship advice questions to goodmorninggloucester@yahoo.com

Dear Joey,
We enjoy your blog. Joe and I look forward to it every day. The photos of the St. Joseph’s Shrines brought back many wonderful memories.
We were born and brought up in Gloucester. My husband, Joe Ciarametaro, yes, that’s his name, is related to the Ciarametaros who owned the boats Mary Rose and Baby Rose, and the Gloucester Grocery & Boat Supply on Rogers Street. My relatives were the Bertolinos of the famous Italian bread bakery on Commercial Street. My dad, Anthony Tony Bertolino owned the fishing dragger St. Theresa.
Joe’s Great Aunt Francis Aiello, who lived on Summer Street years ago, had a shrine every year when we were growing up. My mother, Rose Chiancola Bertolino’s St. Theresa statue and dining room lamps were always a part of Aunt Francis’ shrines.
We have been gone from Gloucester for many years, but try to visit every summer. We are now living in sunny Arizona, but missing the sound of the fishing boats’ horns, the clang of the buoy bells, and the smell of the salt ocean air. Ciao,
Phyllis Ciarametaro
