Dave says,

It’s a double whammy this week as I  get to hang out and play not only once, but twice in a row with that  famous jongleur, former rockstar,  Gleem® spokesmodel and all-around Ipswich Idol: Mr. Orville Giddings. I’m talking about Wed. nite at Chianti’s in Beverly AND Thurday nite at the Rhumb Line. Worse, we’re being joined at the hip by my good friend and industrial tenor tooter, Mr. Mark Earley. Even better, we got our  general egg-beater Mr. Steevie Chaggaris to pound the skins. It’s gonna be a blast as we drill down deep into the bedrock and dig out the gems. So, skip your dentures appointment and hurry on down, either Wed. at Chianti’s from 7:30 to 10-30, or Thursday at the Rummie from 8 to 11. Or both. See you there!

The Thursday night blues party @ The Rhumb Line is going to be crazy good. 3.7.2013

Have you noticed that it  stays light out until almost 6 ? Spring is bustin’ out all over! Like a disease!
But seriously, folks, lets’ stop worrying about our muffin tops and do something about it: dance!!
Therefore, allow me to introduce Mr. John Keegan™, erstwhile leader of “Madhouse”, blues cheerleader, stage manager, and all around general mucky muck. He’s gonna grab your earlobes and twist them into submission, make you scream and cry. You’ll lose 10 lbs. in 3 hours or double Fred’s money back!

John Keegan
The band’s hot, too: We have John Hyde, Chick magnet II and jazz snob, on his organ again, Dave Brown, multi-grained gootarist and silicone slide master  lording over his spaghetti pile of guitar cables and our Irish Ace of Pace, Mr. Benny Benson wailing’ on those skins. and me, too, on base. It’s the dance party of the season!

Also,  the Good Old Salty Jazz Band will be wailing at the rose Baker Senior Center next monday from 1 to 3. It’s free!

My only regret is that I’m doing a show at Hard Rock Live,

in as host?  The great Allen Estes!  There’s a wonderful
chemistry between these two, Marina having appeared as
guest on Allen’s TV show, “Local Music Seen”.

Thursday night blues party to host Evan Goodrow with Benny Benson on drums @ The Rhumb Line 8-11

Dave SaginarioDave says,

Forest Lawn Productions is proud to present  Mr. Evan Goodreau, gootarist, and gargly vocalist to our massive stage this week, as the Dave Sag birthday bash draws to a close. Evan is our certain crowd-pleaser and resident chick magnet. His sinewy style is sure to make your wig flip. Dancing is inevitable. As is great wailing and gnashing of dentures.

Evan Goodrowhttp://www.evangoodrow.com/

Backing Mr.G will be our own Irish Ace of Pace, Mr. Benny Benson on the friolators, with myself on the bass. Gonna be a sweaty  night, bring your own Snapjax and Wildroot®.

And Monday, once again from 1 to 3 at the Rose Baker Senior Center, the mighty Good Old Salty Jazz Band  holds court, playing your favorite songs from the 12th century. You really ought put those Keno cards down and czech this out.

Again, thank you-all for your continued support; we’d be nothing without you. Any friends who want to receive my weakly missive should be corralled my way. I’m always looking for fresh meat. Don’t forget: our new Fred-approved  winter hours are 8 to 11 pm.

Joseph J. Unis has something to say about Gloucester’s live music scene

hive show bfs march 9
Buncha stuff to say.
FIRST OFF: Me and Riley have been booking all ages shows in Gloucester Massachusetts, our home town, for a minute now @ this place called The Hive. David Brooks has been helping us out a great deal. This a cool safe place for people of all ages to go and see some great music. That’s not all they do there, it’s really just a small portion of the stuff that they do there. You can check it out! We got a show coming up on March 9th With bands: The BFs, The Young Leaves, The Little Richards, Poison Ivy League, Toys And Other Weapons We keep door prices @ back in the day prices $5 and put the cash back into the space, or it goes to benefit another cause, or afew dollars to gas money for some of the bands. I always feel like it’s important for younger bands to play with older bands from out of town. Perspective is important. It’s been fun. Come by and check it out. If you want to book your band here come talk to me @ Young Leaves / BFs / Poison Ivy League / Mercy Case / Little
Richards / Toys And Other Weapons
