Renée Dupuis is a truly versatile vocalist both on stage and in the recording studio. From conservatory-style classical singing, to music theater, jazz, blues and rock & roll, Renée has enjoyed a diverse musical career excelling as both a solo artist and back-up singer.

Renee is currently a staple member of the original rock band the Bandit Kings (keys, vocals), the acoustic duo Renée & Joe (keys, vocals, composition), and 1970′s disco party band Bling Cherry (vocals). You can also hear her singing standards and show tunes with the Cape Ann Big Band, harmonies with the Chelsea Berry Band, and supporting such artists as Juston McKinney (Comedy Central) and Tom Cotter (Comedy Central, America’s Got Talent) as the lead vocalist in the New Hampshire Music Hall’s house band the Gaudy Baubles.

FIRST OFF: Me and Riley have been booking all ages shows in Gloucester Massachusetts, our home town, for a minute now @ this place called The Hive. David Brooks has been helping us out a great deal. This a cool safe place for people of all ages to go and see some great music. That’s not all they do there, it’s really just a small portion of the stuff that they do there. You can check it out! We got a show coming up on March 9th With bands: The BFs, The Young Leaves, The Little Richards, Poison Ivy League, Toys And Other Weapons We keep door prices @ back in the day prices $5 and put the cash back into the space, or it goes to benefit another cause, or afew dollars to gas money for some of the bands. I always feel like it’s important for younger bands to play with older bands from out of town. Perspective is important. It’s been fun. Come by and check it out. We offer you a bromide for the blues this week as we welcome back Mr. Justin Quinn and cohorts. Q has been busy learning a million snappy tunes with which to regale you with his harmonica sorties and clang bang vocal style. He’s dragging along the mighty Jon Ross with his cheesy antique guitar collection and deep knowledge of blue chestnuts. L’il Steevee Chaggaris will be beating the bongos to the blistering beat. And, by the way, We’ll be rehearsing the whole thing this Wed. nite at Glenn’s in Nbpt. from 7 to 9 as people attempt to eat dinner. It’s a great restaurant even though it’s over the bridge.
AND DON’T FORGET: The Rhumb Line is now on winter hours. Yes, we start at 8 pm and play till 11. Until further notice. So scrape that gravy off your chin and get out the door! you have no excuse!

This Saturday, Feb. 16 at 9am-3pm (Sorry no earlybirds) I’ll be having a huge indoor garage sale.

The sale will feature thousands of fresh items that are ready to sell. I’ve been buying all winter for these sales and my auctions. This sale will feature thousands of items including antiques, collectibles, jewelry, stamps, books, glassware, china, pottery and who knows what else!
As always, nothing is marked in advance, and I try to make sure all the people that attend go home with great buys which they can re-sell at a profit if they’re dealers.

This is what the place looks like at 11:30 am Thurs. morning! Prepare to dig in boxes, I don’t think I’ll have the time to make it resemble a Macy’s display by Saturday morning!

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, mahout driver Fred has ordained that the Blues Bash™ shall be forthwith changing our startup time. We’re going for 8 pm to 11 pm all thru the winter. Forget 9 to 12! that’s for youngsters! We’re going for the formaldehyde crowd! But, seriously, folks, a lot of you have struggled to stay awake long enough to force yourselves to go out at nite. I’m the same way. But, if I can do it…..I’m actually excited about this. Many of our loyal fans have been quick to point out that there’s a lag from the time the wake ends till we start, so, this’ll give you a chance to clear the decks. Besides, it’s Valentine’s Day. Bring you insignificant other and clamp down on her heart! Damn, this martini is good….
So, let’s party! This Thursday brings up the rather large matter of Mr. Steve Sadler, one of my personal favorites. Guit-slinger, vocalist and recreational anesthesiologist, you’re sure to find something fabulous in his smood stylings. Not only that, but the electrifying Mr. Jim Scoppa is going to materialize, too. For many years the slashing guitarist for T.H.and The Wreckage, this cat has sharp claws that will open your pineal gland faster than you can say,”What, me worry?” Unfortunately, our chosen drummer, who shall remain nameless, has been rushed to the hospital for emergency cosmetic weenis surgery. Prognosis is good, but a suitable replacement is under my grow lite, and should be firm by Thursday.

Hollywood composer, he undertook a course of study in the art of FILM SCORING.
Nothing ever really came of that. Â Instead, he settled in Gloucester, MA, where he
got a gig as Resident Music Director at the Gloucester Stage Co. Â While there, he
wrote, arranged and performed for various & sundry productions including
original Israel Horovitz plays, and a number of successful musical tribute shows
(notably PAUL SIMON, CAROLE KING, GEORGE GERSHWIN.)
