I am a live music advocate and seek to share the news of bands playing at local venues in my home town. Being drawn to blues mostly but embrace all kinds of music. One does not have to go over the bridge to hear some real fine tunes, however there are some bands that draw you elsewhere. I hope this blog is a good use to you as it is to me.

We know there’s Snow Scheduled for Saturday, so please be reminded of our policy which is…Rain, Snow or Shine! The auction is on. We’ll ONLY cancel if the roads are closed, in which case, the extreme weather date is Sunday, 1/19/2020 – same time.
Obviously we are late out of the gate on pictures and descriptions for this auction. This is due to the fact that we just had our First Vintage Flea Market last Sunday! If you were there, you know it was a huge success and extremely well attended! Thank You.
However, this means we’re a bit behind in our auction promotion! This is the reason you don’t see pics or a detailed item description in this email. BUT just know that we’ll have our usual 200+ lots of vintage items, antiques, furniture, art, coins jewelry and much more!
If time permits, we may have a more complete listing available by the time our reminder email goes out on Saturday morning.

Tonight we kickoff a new Machaca’s $1,000 Singer-Songwriter Challenge at 7:30pm. We will be keeping the kitchen open until 10pm. Come check out some of the area’s best up-and-coming singer-songwriters!
There will be 7 weeks of preliminaries with one qualifier selected each week to perform on week 8 for a piece of the $1,000 prize purse. Interested in performing? CHRISTMAS! That’s right. Sister Linda and Brother J.B. join forces with me once again to spread the holiday joy that has been our family tradition since early childhood under the loving wing of Dear Mother Moulty on 10 Southern Avenue, Essex, MA!
My, my… the stories we could tell about those glorious days!
Wild music and riotous laughter all night long in that back room (a.k.a. Moulty’s Inn), with Father Earl steaming in the living room, asking, “What the hell’s going on around here?!”
So, it’s now time for us all to get warm and fuzzy with our closest, most beloved friends on this beautiful island known as Cape Ann.
We’ll have fun and laughs while singing all those happy, happy songs as best we can!
I would personally like to thank all the wonderful, faithful fans who steadily support our Wednesday show (and local music in general) year in and year out. YOU are the true stars shining atop our proverbial Christmas tree. And… an additional, SPECIAL thanks to proprietor, Fred Shrigley, for 40 incredible years of music, joy and all-around good vibes!
