I created this slideshow of prices which shows we have lower median rents than Lynn, Peabody and Beverly. I read a ton on Facebook about rent being outrageous in Gloucester as if it were a unique to Gloucester thing but it’s everywhere and Gloucester is a bargain compared to other places in our region.

neo-soul, and acoustic noir at the corner of Middle and Church Streets at 6:00 p.m. NOTE: THIS CONCERT WAS RESCHEDULED FROM AUGUST 5.
Well known in Boston’s underground cabaret scene, What Time Is It Mr. Fox has earned a loyal following with frequent performances in New York City
and tours across the United States. Their original songs feature rich lyrical imagery that explore love, spirituality, sexuality, and identity, and their
performances are infused with energy, honesty, and emotional authenticity. Their unique brand of music and performance art has been adopted
by popular singers, filmmakers, and repertory theaters. Band members include: 3rian King, voice, piano, and acoustic guitar; Nathan Cohen, violin,
trumpet, voice; Dennis Monagle, drums; Renee Dupuis, voice, keys, and melodica; and Joe Cardoza, upright bass.
Your free-will donations will benefit the North Shore Health Project supporting the health and wellbeing of people living on the North Shore for
more than three decades. The evening’s food vendor is Chef Ross Franklin offering gourmet tacos and tater tots from his 5 Star Phresh-Phood Taco Truck.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Now in its seventh season, Music on Meetinghouse Green features nine free Friday evening concerts from July 8 to September 9. Performances are held
on the Green with great music, favorite foods from local vendors, and a different North Shore non-profit organization benefits each week through free-will
donations from the audience. Concerts begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude at 8:30 p.m. Some chairs will be provided and audience members are welcome to
bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Picnic with delicious local food from our vendors or bring your own. Performances are handicapped accessible and
parking on the Green is limited to persons with disabilities.
ABOUT THE GLOUCESTER MEETINGHOUSE FOUNDATION
Founded in 2015, the Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation is dedicated to preserving the landmark building as a civic hub, entertainment venue, and
community center. In addition to its work to preserve the historic 1806 Meetinghouse, GMF is currently raising funds to restore Meetinghouse Green.
The GMF has received a $130,000 grant from the Community Preservation Act and a $2,000 grant from the Essex Heritage Partnership Grant Program
towards a total project goal of $340,000. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2023.

Evan started having the first hint of symptoms during the Summer of 2021-Fall of 2021. He was diagnosed early 2022. He now has a team of doctors at the Sean M. Healey and AMG Center for ALS at Mass General Hospital. Evan is now fully dependant on a walker to get around the house and quick errands and a wheelchair for longer outings. He describes his right hand as “basically useless” and his left hand and right leg is getting weaker. If you look closely at his arms you will most likely see the twitching (fasciculations) of his muscles. His legs are very stiff and he experiences clonus and spasticity regularly. Just today, I had to call the fire department as he fell getting out of bed and couldn’t bend his legs to get up. They got him up but it still took over TWO hours for his knees to finally bend.
Evan is now taking multiple medications to help slow the progression of this disease (and more to come). These medications are not cheap. For example, one medication he takes as an injection is $215 a month and not covered by insurance. He is also most likely going to need more equipment, such as motorized wheelchairs or scooters, a hospital or adjustable bed, hoyer lifts and more.
My work has been so supportive and organized this for Evan and I. We are so appreciative of this fundraiser and any help we receive. This is incredibly difficult to deal with and not the life we had imagined for us. Going to Alaska is definitely top on my travel bucket list, but for this week, I settled for my first ever taste of Baked Alaska with some friends at Yvonne’s in Boston.
Pavilion Beach is a great little spot for many reasons but mostly because it’s relaxing with quite a lot going on in the vicinity. Hail Pavilion Beach!

International Play Music on the Porch Day returns to Rocky Neck on Saturday, August 27 starting at 2 PM in various locations throughout the neighborhood. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy these free porch concerts while exploring the galleries, restaurants, and stunning views. Building off last year’s success on Rocky Neck, this year’s International Play Music on the Porch Day includes several musicians performing a variety of genres, including folk, sea shanties, jazz, West African drums, acoustic blues, and children’s music to attract both locals and tourists to listen, dance, visit galleries and dine at Rocky Neck’s restaurants. Kitt Cox brought this effort to the neighborhood last year and continues to expand the local reach of this worldwide event. The three main locations and featured artists are listed below. Play Music on The Porch Day is a worldwide event that’s been in full swing since 2018, when thousands of musicians in countries from Australia to Zimbabwe participated. It is an inclusive concept that unites people around the world. Musicians of all kinds perform on their porches on the last Saturday in August, and they post their live-recorded videos with the #playmusicontheporchday hashtag which allows them all to be streamed into a live and ongoing worldwide event on the web. The custom flier for this year’s event was created by young Rocky Neck resident Charlie E.
A sampling of this year’s performers includes fingerstyle guitarist Paul Knox, West African drummer Mamadou Diop, multi-instrumentalist Steve Yost, female vocal trio PRS and Cape Ann-inspired songwriter (and children’s performer) Kitt Cox. This information is subject to change.

The Cape Ann TimeBank is excited to announce its second annual Artisans
Market happening this fall during Columbus Day weekend! We’re looking
for local vendors to share their hand crafted wares at this primo spot
located next to St. Peter’s Park, near the Beauport Hotel and Gloucester
harbor. This will be a juried show to ensure a balanced variety of quality arts & crafts. Vendors
will provide their own tables (tents optional). Applications must be received by 8/25. The cost of a
space is $45, due upon acceptance. A pdf copy of the application is attached for you to fill out and
submit. Rain date: Saturday, Oct. 15th.
