My son, Thatcher, works on the Lady Jillian with Cape Ann Harbor Tours water shuttle. Working different shifts on different days, he has been afforded the opportunity to see the harbor at varying times in all its glory.

We Meet Polly 5 Toes

We recently took a sail on the Lannon (highly recommended especially on a brutally humid afternoon) and were visited by Capt Heath’s gull-friend Polly 5 Toes. As depicted in a recent children’s book by Sy Montgomery, Polly 5 Toes visits the Lannon seeking oyster crackers from the obliging captain. She came to the schooner twice on our sail that day and performed as anyone might hope. Polly has been visiting the Lannon for 8 years, Capt Heath reports. Thanks for stopping by Polly.

I had a pork butt that I just didn’t get a chance to put on teh smoker for pulled pork sandwiches so Captain Chris Orsillo aboard the Lobster Boat Trapper John agreed to use it for bait and report back on the results.

Here it is getting put into the trap on Friday.

As soon as he hauls the trap again we will report if it caught any lobsters and how many were caught.
