Every now and then, we like to stop down to Cape Pond Ice to check out what is new. And to check out what is old too, because this little shop is a neat blend of history and retail. Part museum, part shop located on Commercial Street, always has something interesting to offer. Sometimes it is Scott himself or his staff. Sometimes it is the merchandise. Sometimes there’s a new display. You just never know, except you do know it’s all pretty “cool” (see what I did there?)

John Singer Sargent (1856-1925), great American painter, her great grand nephew, contributed to preserving this architectural gem.
