This view off Grant Circle over what I think is called Green Landing changes as quickly as the weather. Sometimes it is great for birders, or those wanting to watch boat traffic under the train bridge, or for sunsets….and sometimes, well, for this.

Crews spent midnight hours clearing and reducing massive snowpiles from Main St downtown along with other shopping areas to make it more accessible to shoppers and residents. Some snow remains, but it is vastly better now after a hard night’s work. Thanks all!





The Gloucester Lyceum and Sawyer Free Librarywill be hosting a conversation with artist Joe Wallace about his powerful photo series “Day After Yesterday”this Saturday, February 5, from 2-4 pmwhich is currently on display in the Library’s Matz Gallery.
The photo exhibit juxtaposes Wallace’s portraits of individuals living with dementia with a photo of the subject at a younger age and a brief narrative of who they are as people.
The goal of this body of work is to de-stigmatize those living with dementia, use empathy as a means for connection and understanding, and tell a more complete story of those living with the disease and its effect on their families and loved ones.
Trained as a journalist, Wallace has been a portrait photographer and storyteller for two decades and has a deeply personal connection with dementia.

A huge Brady fan an appreciative of all the joy he brought to our lives this really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I find it to be totally unnecessary to dismiss New England and mention specifically the Tampa Bay fans, coaches, owners, players and organization.
Pretty sad and totally unnecessary.

Tom Brady owes me nothing. He owes every other New England fan exactly nothing.
Having said that, this statement, knowing how smart and calculating Tom Brady and his agents are, is very disheartening and I just don’t see what purpose it serves.

I always look forward to seeing what is in the windows at Howard’s Flying Dragon Antiques. Some days write themselves….but, surely other days they must have to dig deep to find something to spell.
