Good Morning Gloucester 
Wow, that brings back memories! I was given a bike as a kid & couldn’t both sit on the seat & reach the pedals as I was too short. So I went down to the boulevard and rode along the rail standing up on the pedals, when I’d start to fall I would grab the railing to save myself. It worked well & I did learn to ride.
