“Fitz Henry Lane (born Nathaniel Rogers Lane, also known as Fitz Hugh Lane) (December 19, 1804 – August 14, 1865) was an American painter and printmaker of a style that would later be called Luminism, for its use of pervasive light.”

  1. Back in the 1980’s I took a series of photos of the statue in Gloucester which did inspire me as both a writer and watercolor painter. I’m not very good at either but enjoy sending my paintings as cards to family and friends who say they love what I paint and write. I’ve have continued over the years thanks to this statue and am glad I came across this post.
