Dog House

Everywhere you look there is something interesting to photograph when walking around Gloucester’s waterfront.  This “dog house” behind Maritime Gloucester always catches my eye.

  1. If you check the geometry you can see that the “dog house” is right where you needed machinery to haul boats up the second railway on the property, when there was a second railway. Presently that railway water space is just used for some boat and float storage and the outer end is blocked by the wide end of the Harriet Webster pier. I used to keep the Fiesta racing seine boats in the water where those rails were when they were in the water before and after fiesta. You can also see the lines of pilings at low tide where the rails were. The building is now used for storage and tools and there is a big air compressor in there that you use for pneumatic tools outside.
