Pink House…a puddle’s view

I’m always looking for different ways to photograph the same old view and sometimes dynamic weather and clouds, or finding something to frame the subject can help with changing the look of a scene.   Another way to change the scene is to change your perspective.      Getting down low and using the foreground is one of my favorite ways to make a scene interesting.   In this case it was a 2-3 foot wide puddle in the middle of a parking lot across from the Pink House.   With my camera sitting on the ground at the edge of the puddle, you can see the house and colors of the sunrise reflected.    So get out and get down low… because you’ll never look at a little puddle the same way again!

Here are some outtakes below for some perspective of what you don’t see. (Note I took the large telephone pole out…it was annoying me lol!)

    1. I hear you on that Marty! My little secret there is using Live View on the back of my camera whenever I can get away with it! The Fuji is great for this because you can adjust your exposure and see the results on the display! Although this time I really did have to get down on my belly and thankfully no one was around to see the spectacle of my trying to get up again! 😀

    1. I have seen that program before, but while I do edit my pics in Adobe Lightroom because I shoot in a flattened RAW format, I like the challenge of getting the sky right in my camera. That being said, it certainly fun and creative to try some of the effects that some of the programs offer, like Topaz Glow and NIK effects software or adding textures over your photos in Photoshop. There’s even a program out now that combines video motion of your still photograph…check out this site https://flixel.com. Thanks for sharing! 😀
