One of my favorite sunset spots is the Annisquam Lighthouse. This image today reminds me that during a full moon the tides are lower and you can get better angles of the Lighthouse depending on the timing. This Thursday is a full moon and the tide will be lowest at 5:45 pm and might make for some nice lighting on the Lighthouse as the sun will be setting at 7:35pm. See all these crazy things your camera makes you look up just to take a photo? So hopefully I’ll venture down and check it out if the weather stays nice!

Beautiful shot, Bridgette, it makes me miss the pasture and those lovely evening walks to the beach. Nice composition and good dynamic range — because I’m a photo geek, can you give me a few technical details? Thank you —

Thank you Bill! Glad to share…I was using a 24-70 tamron lens. F9, ISO 800 at 30 seconds. It was getting fairly dark out and I was using the long exposure to squeeze a little more out of blue hour. Happy shooting!!

Excellent shot footprints across the sand – I remember my mom telling her older brother “Lefty MacNeil.” was a lifeguard at Wingersheet Beach late 30’s or 1940’s and he used to drive his car form Bayview to lighthouse Wigwarm point check the weather and waves then drive down to yacht Club Leonard street or river road and park – swim across the channel to beach. Very strong swimmer but those currents can be tricky and take you out undertow…:-) Dave & Kim 🙂
