Every time I see pictures like this the memories come flooding in! In the days of very limited communication navigational aids no GPS then and the fisherman – line all sea fearing folks new the spots where catch was good. Could watch George Morey and Duke pulling up their nets from brake wall or over by the summer cottages from the rock lines. Or watch the trawlers and dragger’s with the long line of gulls follow them into harbor or ports vivid views indeed!
I am going to let the librarian this way know of this too traditions and ways of life both written and oral history caries us like the wind in life! And some transplanted New Englanders where ever they ended up!
Excellent Post! 🙂 Dave
