Posting For SAT Tutors

Hello,

My name is Norma Ramirez and I am with LEAP for Education (formerly Salem CyberSpace) College Success Program.  You might have met Betty Haggerty, who was running the Gloucester College Success Program last year.  This year, due to the growth of our programs, I will be running the College Success Program in Gloucester along with Scott Memhard, who is a Gloucester resident and owner of Cape Pond Ice.

The reason for my reaching out to you is to ask if you could possibly post something for us.  We would like to post that the College Success Program is looking for tutors to help high school juniors prepare for the SATs in Math and English.  SAT tutoring takes place once a week for 1 hour from October to May from 4:30 to 5:30pm at Gloucester High School.  Anyone who is interested can either email me (nramirez@leap4ed.org) or call me (978-741-6667 ext. 106).

Hi Joey,
Here’s an update on That Nutty Redhead-
WOOT!!!!!!!!!!! Wicked sweet!!!!!That Nutty Redhead’s application for product submission for Whole Foods Market!!!! I’ve worked in the food business for many years, this is a dream come true!! My gourmet nuts are based on my Victorian grandmother’s recipe. My ancestors once owned a candy factory so I grew up making confections. I’m picking up where they left off.

Whole Foods App 007

I’ll need help raising the funds for the required professional UPC/nutrition label packaging for Whole Foods & several other interested stores. Add another nut glazing machine, working capital, and I’m off to the next level!
Monday I launch my official Kickstarter fundraising campaign!!
It’s been a long road, but I’ve come this far, it’s gonna happen!!!!! 🙂
I’ll post the pledge link Monday. PLEASE share it with everyone, and ask them to share it. The more exposure I get the better my chances of making my goal. Kickstarter is all, or nothing, so making the goal is critical.

Does Kickstarter work? You bet!! Take a look at these numbers!

A tremendous thank you from Lisa, That Nutty Redhead 🙂

HOLY FAMILY PARISH AND OUR LADY OF GOOD VOYAGE AUTUMN FESTIVAL

The Collaborative of Holy Family Parish of Cape Ann and Our Lady of Good Voyage are planning our first joint event to welcome the Autumn season on October 4,2014.  Holy Family will welcome the gift of the Harvest Season and host the Harvest Festival.  The event will kickoff with a wonderful autumn breakfast of homemade Cider Donuts, Pumpkin Muffins, coffee and hot chocolate starting at 9:00 a.m. at St. Ann Church Hall.  Please don’t leave after breakfast because the festivities will just be getting started!  We will be offering a Yard Sale with treasures from all over Cape Ann.  There is something special with your name on it waiting for your discerning taste and pocketbook.  The famous bake table will be up and running too.  The theme for this bake table will be Harvest Delights.  Offered at the bake table will be Pumpkin, Apple and Squash Pies as well as the absolute Gloucester favorite ITALIAN and LEBANESE COOKIES.  Eat them now or put them in the freezer for the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas Seasons.  There will be homemade Blueberry, Strawberry and Blackberry Jams and Cape Ann note cards to be enjoyed now or to put in Christmas Stockings!  The Autumn season on Cape Ann is as beautiful as any leaf peeping north of here!  Because of this beauty, we will have decorated and plain pumpkins you can carve yourself, garden art of dried hydrangea, bittersweet, cat-o-nine tails to name a few.  These dried arrangements and decorated, vintage farm tools will make a beautiful statement in your home or yard. Most importantly, we will be ending the Harvest Festival at 100 p.m. by celebrating the Feast of St. Frances of Assisi at Our Lady of Good Voyage parking lot.  At that time, our much loved pets will be blessed!  “All creatures great and small” will be welcome properly leashed, in their carriers or containers.  We hope to make this a yearly part of our Harvest Festival.  Come as we join together to celebrated this special saint who loved all of God’s creatures.  Save part of your week to join in fellowship with Holy Family Parish and Our Lady of Good Voyage.  See you there!

Good morning!  Rob Bradshaw here.  Would you be willing to consider mentioning the Cape Ann Soundscape project I am working on with Cape Ann Museum?  I’m trying to find the most interesting sounds of Gloucester and Cape Ann to use in a work to be premiered at CAM in January.

Here is an article in the paper from this week:  http://www.gloucestertimes.com/news/local_news/article_bef6160d-8417-5868-9d1a-7c6fa09cfe81.html

And I have started (need to update it!) a photo album of the places I am recording:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152460482178411.1073741834.43761053410&type=1
