This historic building coming down this makes me feel a little panicked and sad. My fear is that it marks the end of an era. The passing of the waterfront from a community of workers and citizens into the hands of a few wealthy individuals who seem to be buying it up. I hope I am wrong because I feel such deep love in my heart this special place. In too many costal towns the water front is all bought up and part of our charm is that the waterfront is so accessible. Bye bye, Birdseye!
This building employed many over the years, however it has been vacant for far too long. Looking forward, many new jobs for Gloucester and revenue coming into the community.
Farewell Birdseye, hello future

Right on Michelle, glad I only have 20 or so years to be on this earth sad to see Gloucester turning into tourist heaven.
