Niles Pond is reclaiming itself, with a little help from the Niles Pond Conservancy, from Phragmites. As you probably know Phragmites is an invasive species that threatens the ecology of salt marshes along the eastern seaboard. With significant input from Mass Audubon an area of Niles Pond has been treated to reduce the impact of the Phragmites.
