Actually there was a female at the other feeder but she did not like the camera.

They certainly do brighten up a snowy landscape. At the height of the storm Wednesday I counted 15 in my back yard. That was a treat! As recently as 50 years ago it was a rarity to see a cardinal this far north. I remember when I was a kid my mom seeing one for the first time. She made sure all the bird-watching neighbors knew.

Wow they sure love you and know where a happy home is to stay warm and full. I missed the cardnials when we moved west “not as many but a few very rare find or see non zoo setting”…Generally-Cardinals are non-migratory birds. Most cardinals live within a mile of where they were born from what I read on them and like the woodlands on the edge. 🙂
