Two years already?

It’s been two years since we lost Paul.

Here’s the story in case you missed it: Union Leader Hero Award

Paul’s FaceBook Page: Paul the III

This from Paul’s Mom;

“Funny how life works    2 years ago was the saddest day of my life, last year on Pauls 1st anniversary we were blessed with our new nephew Tommy who brought so much joy to our family and this year on Pauls 2nd anniversary we bring my Dad home, healthy, from rehab after a terrible fall with a head injury , Oct 10th– bittersweet.”

From Paul’s FB Memorial Page;

“Two years goes by very quickly but slowly just the same. Please take some time to remember an truly amazing man, son, brother, family member, friend and hero.

Paul Frontiero III, you are an inspiration to us all and will be forever loved, missed and thought about.”

From Kathryn Libby, one of the Girls Paul Saved;

“Two years ago today an angel gave his life to save mine. His name was Paul Frontiero. If I could make the world yell hallelujah, I would.”

Dedication of the Austin Connors Memorial Garden

A long overdue tribute to Austin in the garden that he cared for over the years.

From Sharon: "When Chuck and I were there you and I had a conversation about favorite photos from our trip (to Gloucester) so I am sending you two. I met a lady at the end of Eastern Point who told me she rides her bicycle there every day and walks out on the breakwater. She said it makes her feel close to the sea.

Mark Stevick’s show runs this weekend at Rockafella’s in Salem. They need attendees because he has the near-impossible task of filling 80 seats per night for the first five nights.

It’s a very funny smartly written whodunit murder mystery dinner theater thing. And to get people to come, they’re doing free show with the dinner price of $28.  See below for details.

Pass the below info along, please, if you know people who enjoy laughter.

“The Dublin Guitar Quartet have no frontiers when it comes to blazing a trail for contemporary music.”— Sunday Business Post (Ireland)

Described as a “quartet with a difference” by the Irish Times, the Dublin Guitar Quartet is a one-of-a-kind classical guitar ensemble that occupies a unique space in the wider chamber music world. It is the first classical guitar quartet devoted to new music. Since its formation at the Dublin Conservatory of Music and Drama, DGQ has worked to expand the limited repertoire by commissioning new works and adapting modern masterpieces from outside of the guitar repertoire. Audiences can expect an explosive, entertaining, and completely novel concert experience.

Dave Sag’s Blues Party to Host Dennis Brennan, Matt Stubbs and Chris Rivelli. This Thursday 10.10.2013

Dave Sag's
Dave Sag’s

Dave says,

We will reach our rendezvous with destiny this Thursday with the luminescent return of that master vocalist and harpist, Mr. Dennis Brennan. Rapidly becoming a favorite here at the Rhumb Line, this cat has got what it takes to put a shimmy in your shake, and ants in your pants. He can traumatize your soul. He’ll be bringing along the best young lion of guitarists, Mr. Matt Stubbs, with his finger-popping style and dead-on chops. Rhythm provided  by Roomful of Blues clanger, Mr. Chris Rivelli, 21 jewel ticker and concussion expert. Me? I’m the basest. Czech it out!
And on Saturday night, at the same old place, I’ll be cringing in the corner, filling in for that fabulous songbird, Ms. Mari Martin. She’s bringing along some great musicians like Roger Brocklebank, on skins, Mark Retalleck, on keys and Bob Enik on glitar. Mari really blew the roof off last time she was here. I gotta check Fred’s insurance. It’ll be a great night for dancing!
And, as usual, we thank you all for your continued support.  Now that I’ve got a Facebook page, what do I do with it? Let me know all your subhuman desires at facebook.com/pages/Davesags-blues-party/1413082458915228. Your wish is my command.

Rocky Neck 1923 and Gloucester 1892

This was the invitation from 1892 for Gloucester's 250th anniversary. All of these dates can be a little confusing, so here's the timeline: Gloucester settled in 1623 by fishermen on Stage Fort Park. Incorporated as a town in 1642. Incorporated as a City in 1874.

Rocky Neck, 1923. The occasion was Gloucester's 300th anniversary (1623-1923). It was a great celebration, attended by the US Navy. That's either a battleship or a heavy cruiser. In the foreground is the East Gloucester shore, Smith Cove and Rocky Neck. The pilings are the remnants of the old ferry service, that went around the harbor.

For The Low Low Price Of Just $180 Per Person You Can Have The Honor Of Eating At Apple Street Farm With Chef Frank McClelland (organic produce and everything)

image

WHO: Frank McClelland is the James Beard award winning Chef and Proprietor of L’Espalier. L’Espalier has been a perennial “best” of America’s restaurants for three decades, earning top accolades from Zagat, Forbes, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, Wine Spectator and Conde Nast Traveler as well as nods in international media.

Chef McClelland is one of few Chefs in the country to reside on his own farm, Apple Street Farm. In one of the country’s most ambitious sustainable agriculture initiatives for the restaurant industry, Apple Street Farm is the primary source of organic harvests for L’Espalier and is a source for various other restaurants throughout the city of Boston. Apple Street Farm is located just north of Boston in Essex, MA and is Chef McClelland’s revitalization of a two-century pastoral 14-acre equestrian farm.

WHAT:                To celebrate the freshest ingredients of fall, Chef Frank McClelland and his team will be hosting the Apple Street Farm Essex Harvest Feast on October 18th and 19th. Every month, Chef prepares a themed dinner showcasing the organic produce, poultry, and eggs from the fields. For the month of October, Chef has designed a five-course menu with wines pairings.

Upon arrival, guests are welcome to explore the beautiful grounds of Apple Street Farm while enjoying a seasonal cocktail and hors d’oeuvres prepared by the chefs of L’Espalier. They will then be seated outside (or under a tent in the case of inclement weather)
