GMG Tech Talk- Company Website Designers, Listen Up!
Those of us that use smartphones would like to let you know that when you try to make your client’s website cute by displaying their telephone numbers with periods instead of dashes it makes smartphones unable to simply press that number and automatically dial the number for them.
It may seem trivial to someone who doesn’t use a smartphone but believe me that as older luddites who refuse to adopt new technologies die off and are replaced by younger users who seem born eager to adopt new technologies you as a website designer ought to be aware when you are designing your client’s web pages.
I’ve often thought this but Patty Knaggs from www.thecutbridge.com forwarded along a fantastic article which reminded me of this simple importance.
Here’s the article should you care to read about it-

Did You Know? (Summer and Mug Ups Won’t Last Forever)
If you’ve always said you want to catch Mug Up at Khan Studio and the Good Morning Gloucester on Madfish Wharf, but haven’t yet (Jenn Cullen), summer is waning and there will only be a few more Mug Ups before we close up shop for the winter at 77 Rocky Neck. So . . . come on over this Sunday at 10:00 and join us for some good food, company and conversation. No one bites, except Paul Frontiero occasionally and not very hard, and its always fun.

Did You Know? (Schooner Adventure Flea)
Today until 2:00 there is a flea market going on at the Marine Railways featuring nautical stuff, tools and fleas – part of the proceeds benefit the Schooner Adventure. There are also tours all day into the evening of the Schooner Adventure, and Peter and Joanne Souza will be on board until 10:00. A good place to check out some of the activity in the harbor, pick up some flea stuff, and learn about the historic Schooner Adventure.

Gloucester Has a Winner, by Connection
By Cathy (Frontiero) Spiro
At the urging of my Aunts Mary Scola and Vincie (Scola) Gounaris, and my sister Josie (Frontiero) Palazola, I wrote this piece to express my thanks and appreciation to all the Cape Ann friends and family of fans who viewed and rooted for Mike and Sam during the eight NBC ‘Love In The Wild’ episodes that aired on Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. from June 29 to August 17, 2011, where Mike and Samantha met, partnered up for seven of the eight challenges, and went on to win the grand prize trip around the world. Congratulations to them! Here is some personal information that your readers may enjoy.
