  2. Here in NYC Hams help out at the NYC Marathon, walkathons and bikeathons, charity runs, outrigger canoe races, and many other events. We have some really dedicated amateur radio operators. To some people it may be a lost art, but there are Hams still pushing the communications enveloped.
