Saturday and Sunday Dec 13 & 14, 11 – 5pm, The Rocky Neck Winter Stroll  (see attached poster)

The winter residents of Rocky Neck are proud to announce the first ever Winter Stroll.  This is the first time there have been this many galleries open and active this time of year. There are more than twice as many of us open this year compared to previous years.

The wonderful variety of galleries on Rocky Neck offer an eclectic mix of artful, handmade gifts for the holiday season: fine art, funky art, glass sculpture ornaments, jewelry, pottery, accessories, greeting cards, and gift certificates to name a few.

Our idea in doing The Stroll is to show people that Rocky Neck, in addition to our Rocky Neck Goes To Town Main St. Exhibit, does not fold up the side walks in the winter. We are alive and well, vibrant and prospering, and we want to share our art and our energy with our community.

Here is a sampling of some of the offerings:

Imagine gallery will be offering 20% off all artwork and merchandise, as well as 20% of all proceeds to be donated to the Open Door food pantry. EVERYONE who comes into Imagine over the weekend will receive a free gift.

Sigrid Olson gallery is will be raffling off an original painting, as well as 10% off ceramics, 20% off art and free gift wrapping.

Goetemann Gallery will raffle off a giclee silk print, and offer a discount on selected works.

Karen Ristuben Gallery will be offering 10% off all her work.

Sailor Stan’s Restaurant  will be open until 4pm over the weekend offering a light lunch including their popular chowders, along with hot chocolate and sweets.

In addition there will be refreshments and other promotions at various galleries.

Things To Do- seARTS Presntation At Cape Ann Community Cinema Dec 7th 4:30PM

After rounding up musicians from a thriving immigrant neighborhood in Rome to create the eclectic Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio, filmmaker Agostino Ferrente captured their heartwarming individual stories in this captivating documentary. The film reveals that, for many members of the group — which is made up of Muslims, Jews, Christians, Hindus and atheists from 11 countries — making music is as second nature as breathing. Presented by seARTS.

Gloucester Doors- Cape Pond Ice

While I was at Cape Pond Ice taking pictures I got about 4 nice videos and a bunch of pictures but then ran out of juice on the battery of the camera before I got to floor three.  This door is inside to the one heated room inside the facility.
