Gloucester At Dawn- Harbor Cove 4:55AM 3/31/12

Lobster boats, dories, reflections off the water, symmetry, repetition, Gloucester at dawn, Rocky Neck In the background, Cape Pond Ice, the inner working harbor, there’s really not much this one is missing.

Available as an 8×10, 16×20 prints or 16x 20 canvas print which I think just make the reflections and colors pop in a painterly way (the Canvas wraps also don’t require framing).

Hope you like it.  This one is gong in my favorites pile.  I may even blow it up for myself.

to me it’s very atmospheric with both the boats in the fore and background somewhat visible even though it’s very early morning.  It was a 4 second exposure, f4.5, iso 200.

Welcome The Latest Lobster Boat To The Gloucester Fleet- Pete Libro’s Cabaret V

DSC00653

The Cabaret V Is a Beast.   47 feet long and beamy as a bastard.   Big and roomy with plenty of deck space to shift gear and lobster like a lobster boat should- with the ability to move large numbers of lobster traps to areas where the lobster will be next.

On a small boat you are limited with the amount of gear you can shift and the weather you can fish.  On the Cabaret V Pete and his dedicated crew can fish rough weather comfortably and chase the lobsters by moving large amounts of lobster traps in front of the lobster moves to the deeper water and off shore.

Congrats Pete.

Tonight Don’t Forget To Watch Our Boys The Gloucester MA Sanfilippo Fishermen On Mark Burnett’s Expedition Impossible TONIGHT!

-and if you are going to be at The Fiesta, don’t forget to set your DVR to record the whole series.

Joe Sanfilippo has told me that we will be proud of the work ethic and attitude from our hometown men- Nino, Joe and Gus Sanfilippo on the primetime network show which premiere’s on ABC tonight at 9PM!

Mark Burnett recently joined twitter and will be live tweeting during the show.  As you know Mark Burnett doesn’t spare any expense and the production values for this show will be over the top (like everything else he does, like Survivor for example).

Here are some pictures of Joe, Gus and Nino on their Gloucester Fishing Boat The Captain Domenic-

From ABC-

In celebration of his new, epic summer reality series, “Expedition Impossible,” Mark Burnett will be up on Twitter at @MarkBurnettTV on Thursday, June 23 from 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET and PT, during the premiere of the show, to offer commentary on the exciting action taking place, as well as behind-the-scenes anecdotes.

In addition, ABC.com will host a live “Chat Party” during the airing of “Expedition Impossible,” where viewers can come to the site, take a look at Mark’s tweets and chat with other fans during the show.  The “Chat Party” will go live at 9:00 p.m., ET/6:00 p.m., PT on Thursday and remain live until the conclusion of the west coast airing at 10:00 p.m., PT.

For more on “Expedition Impossible,” visit ABC.com at http://abc.go.com/shows/expedition-impossible.

On the premiere episode, “Sun! Sand! Sahara!,” the 13 teams of ordinary Americans set out on the adventure of a lifetime across the ancient kingdom of Morocco, battling rugged terrain, untamable animals and each other. After facing the sand dunes of the Sahara and the cliffs of Todra Gorge, one team will be eliminated.

Adventurer, zoologist, big cat trainer and all around risk taker Dave Salmoni hosts the show.

Featuring high adventure and human drama, “Expedition Impossible” follows 13 teams of 3, racing in a fun expedition across vast deserts, over snow capped mountains and through raging rivers in the beautifully exotic, fabled kingdom of Morocco. Each week a new stage of the expedition will be revealed to the teams. Will they crumble under the pressure of having to think clearly in the wilds of the great outdoors, or will they find a way to work together to complete their adventures? And if one person quits, the entire team is eliminated. After 10 stunning legs of competition with drama, comedy and great characters, one team will cross the finish line first to claim victory. Each winning team member will receive $50,000 ($150,000 total for the team) as well a new Ford Explorer.

Here’s a four part video series I taped with the guys-
