As I was sitting in my office working, received a call from a caller with a very quacky voice. After trying to decipher what they were saying, realized it was a reminder to wish our friend and FOB Paul Morrison a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY…

Happy Birthday EJ! You Light Up All Our Lives With Your Positive Spirit!
We have a bunch of positive minded, kind, creative folks that are part of our little GMG community. Perhaps no one among us embodies what it is to be a GMG’er more than our friend EJ.

Happy Birthday 40th Father Green!
Fred Bodin writes-
Father Matthew confessed at my gallery opening tonight that tomorrow he will reach the "Big 40." He looks so much younger, but I guess I’ll believe him. Matthew Green was born in Winchester (MA) Hospital on October 7th, 1972. He told me that his time in Gloucester, which has been less than two years, has been hugely enhanced by his connection with Good Morning Gloucester. GMG quickly put him in touch with the local community and the larger community beyond. We know him through his photographs and his words, and they’re all good. If you’ve met Fr. Matthew at Mug Ups, art openings, or other local events, you know how personable and approachable he is. When I took this photo, I asked him to hold up four fingers to signify age his of four decades. Now I think it should be for the next forty years he stays in Gloucester. This priest has blessed us all with his presence.

Happy Birthday To One Of My Greatest Presents Of 2011- Our Friend EJ
I can’t begin to tell you how much EJ has brought to our lives. Her positive energy, her photo and video contributions, her expert handling of the GMG Gallery this past summer at Rocky Neck, the hosting of the Mug-Ups but mostly her friendship.
EJ brings so much to us every day and is such a kindred spirit in that she has the best of all worlds, the compassion of an artist and the organizational sense and responsibility of a business person.
EJ, thank you for coming into my life as such a great friend to not just me but the entire GMG community. Your friendship has been one of my greatest gifts this past year.
We love you.
The Boss
Happy Birthday FOB Joey Ciolino!!!!

Joey is one of those young adults that give me hope in future generations. A good guy who makes his parents and our community proud.
Happy Birthday buddy!
Happy Birthday Nonna Rose – Joey’s Grandmother
Happy Birthday Ed Collard!
The first time I met Ed he was pulling weeds and raking the flower beds over at the Visitor’s Center on a 90 degree Sunday afternoon. He was there alone working away to make the place presentable when there was the fantastic effort to revitalize the place into the real community asset that it has become. Not for pay, but because Ed is that kind of guy. The kind of guy that gives a ton to our community.
Celebrate Gloucester- Ed is there helping out erect the fences and set up.
Broken bench in East Gloucester- Ed fixed it without anyone ever knowing.
The Lobster Trap tree- Ed is there lugging traps 40 feet up in 15 degree windy weather.
The clean up effort when the City took over I4C2- Yep, Ed is there
The list goes on and on and on and this is only a few of the things that I know about. So much of what he does he does without anyone ever knowing.
Happy Birthday Ed- one of the Good Guys!
Happy Birthday Joey!!
Happy 60th Birthday Pete Mondello!
How Does This Good Egg Spend Her Birthday? Why Cleaning The Streets Of Gloucester, That’s How!
A little birdie Ed Collard told me it was a very special person’s birthday today. Not any ordinary citizen but super dooper, over-the-top Gloucester helper and lover Donna Ardizzoni’s Birthday.
Now you may know Donna as the woman who organizes the One Hour at a Time Gang Saturday morning volunteer clean up crew or you may know her as a Board of Director on the Chamber of Commerce or you may know her from seeing pictures of her cleaning at the very end of the night after everyone enjoyed the Block Parties and she was right there with us making sure the streets were completely clean so that permitting for subsequent Block Parties would go smoothly.
But today was her birthday. A day that is for one’s self. And Donna one who is the ultimate doer as opposed to many out there that like to talk but never take action was out cleaning the streets of Gloucester with her group of One Hour At a Time Gangers- On Her Birthday.
So next time you see Donna- Give her a pat on the back and an atta girl. She’s one hell of a good egg!
Happy Birthday Donna From Your Buddy Joey! First Drink Is On Me At Next Week’s Block Party! Woot!

SUBJ/UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS BIRTHDAY MESSAGE – 10 NOVEMBER 2009//
GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. UNITED STATES MARINES REPRESENT THE BEST YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN OUR NATION HAS TO OFFER. TO BE A MARINE IS TO BE A MEMBER OF AMERICA’S WARRIOR CLASS – TO BE ONE OF THE FEW WHO STEPS FORWARD WITH THE COURAGE AND CONVICTION TO FACE WHATEVER DANGERS AWAIT. OUR NATION EXPECTS HER MARINES TO BE READY WHEN THE NATION CALLS; TO LEAVE FAMILY AND THE COMFORTS OF HOME BEHIND; TO MARCH INTO BATTLE AND THRIVE UNDER AUSTERITY; AND TO COME HOME UNDER A VICTORY PENNANT.
2. FROM AL ANBAR IN THE WEST OF IRAQ, TO HELMAND PROVINCE IN THE SOUTH OF AFGHANISTAN, OUR CORPS OF MARINES CAN ALWAYS EXPECT TO BE FOUND WHERE THE FIGHT IS TOUGHEST. SUCH IS OUR HISTORY. TODAY, AS WE WRITE THE FINAL CHAPTER ON OUR VICTORY IN IRAQ, WE WILL INCREASINGLY TAKE THE FIGHT TO THE ENEMY IN AFGHANISTAN AND ADD NEW PAGES TO OUR LEGACY IN PLACES CALLED DELARAM, NOW ZAD, AND GARMSIR. ONE DAY, WE WILL RETURN TO OUR NAVAL HERITAGE AND PATROL THE HIGH SEAS WITH OUR NAVY BROTHERS. SUCH IS OUR FUTURE.
3. AS WE CELEBRATE OUR CORPS’ 234TH BIRTHDAY, WE FIRST PAUSE TO REFLECT AND PAY TRIBUTE TO THOSE MARINES WHO HAVE GIVEN THE LAST FULL MEASURE IN DEFENSE OF FREEDOM. WE EXTEND OUR DEEPEST GRATITUDE TO OUR MARINE CORPS FAMILIES – THE UNSUNG HEROES WHO ENDURE HARDSHIP AND SACRIFICE SO THAT WE ARE ABLE TO GO FORWARD AND ACCOMPLISH ANY MISSION. WE EXTEND OUR APPRECIATION TO OUR COUNTRYMEN WHO HAVE ANSWERED OUR EVERY NEED. AND WE CELEBRATE THE MAGNIFICENT MEN AND WOMEN WHO WILLINGLY AND SELFLESSLY CONTINUE TO GO INTO HARM’S WAY TO PROTECT THIS GREAT NATION.
4. TO ALL WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE, TO THOSE WHO WEAR THE UNIFORM TODAY, AND TO THE FAMILIES THAT GIVE US THE STRENGTH TO FORGE AHEAD – I WISH YOU ALL A HEARTFELT HAPPY 234TH BIRTHDAY!
5. SEMPER FIDELIS! JAMES T. CONWAY, GENERAL, U.S. MARINE CORPS, COMMANDANT OF THE MARINE CORPS//
