“Hi,
here our car is stopped at the Continental Divide on famous Route 66. We had to leave Interstate 40 for a brief stop to take the picture. We have been traveling on I 40 for the last two days, which mostly follows the historic Route 66. Tomorrow we hope to make it to Wichita in Kansas. We are taking this route to go around the big ice storm that hit the Oklahoma/Arkansas area and caused widespread power outages.”

“while on my adventure I visited with Russell…the location is Williams Point, FL (Cocoa), overlooking Merritt Island and the Kennedy Space Center, front row for all launches…he stays on this property that he is renovating for friend, he was holding some teak wood samples when I handed him the sticker for the shot…beautiful, “old Florida” waterfront (no high-rise)…he and his lady friend are looking to purchase a house close by so that they will be able to escape New England winters…
For those who are not lucky enough to know Russell, he can be found around Gloucester (summers) as a contractor at Gloucester Marina, River Boat Works or Cripple Cove Marina making repairs to or assisting in the launching of boats…a truly skilled craftsman and most importantly a great person…”

“we wanted to thank you for keeping us up-to-date on the going’s on in Gloucester, while we took our car cross country all the way to San Francisco. We did not have your Gloucester sticker with us, just the one that is attached to our car, so we positioned it, that the sticker and the Golden Gate bridge are in one picture. We were staying here for a couple of weeks to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather and to avoid the many snowstorms at home. However, the time has come that we have to get back and so we will be leaving on Monday to drive East until we get home. We don’t know which route we will take, since it all depends on the weather situation, but if you want to receive more pictures from our Gloucester sticker traveling cross country, we could take a few more pictures and send them to you, whenever we have wireless access. Just let us know.

I decided to take a road trip and to explore a few spots that I have been more than curious about…of course, there are also visits with friends along the way…
attached is a picture of Paul Murray who you know of as a “tuna assassin”…he is sought after also as a hunting guide and volunteers a great deal of time with academic organizations assisting with migration research by attaching special tags which are tracked by satellite…
when not working with his clients he catches his breath at his home in Georgia, a beautiful spread with cypress swamps, etc. …nestled amongst the large plantation tracks at a location that I wont reveal to protect his privacy…
you will notice the Murray Products logo on his truck, representing his family’s business manufacturing items for “sport fish” boats, and the other logo, with a Blue Fin tuna over a Yellow Fin, which is one of the organizations that help the academics do research, known as Pura Vida…and now his truck sports the GoodMorningGloucester logo…
hope that you are enjoying the snow and the cold weather…
