LAST NIGHT’S SUNSET WAS BANANAS!

(To use a favorite expression of Joey’s). As the fog was dissipating in the setting sun, whichever direction the camera was pointed, we were treated to a breathtaking view.

OUR BEAUTIFUL GLOUCESTER HARBOR CITY SKYLINE SUNSET IN THE STORM’S AFTERMATH

The storm swirled in late yesterday afternoon. I was on the way home from filming at Good Harbor Beach and stopped at Pirate’s Lane to watch it sweep across the Harbor. Kayaks were hurling through the air, boats racing pell mell to shore, great gusts whistling, bells clanging, and it was over before it began! The after storm glow and cloud formations were exquisite.

Happy Summer Storm Drama! (As long as everyone is safely on shore)

DOMINIC NESTA RETURNING TO PORT

Dominic Nesta and his unmistakeable fishing boat ‘Tide Skipper’ coming home Friday night, with the Fort in the background. I think the pilot house on the small book gives it a very interesting, unique look, making it always easy to identify whenever seen in the Harbor.

SUNNY DAYS ARE HERE TO STAY!

After nearly two solid weeks of planting client gardens in dismal drismal, what a welcome treat to see Mr. Sunny make an appearance. Snapshots from yesterday’s beautiful late day light.

EASTER SUNSET GLOUCESTER

Easter Sunset Gloucester Harbor.

Last night’s saturated sunset from East Gloucester was arresting, becoming even more so after the sun set. The colors on the water momentarily reflected the voluptuous hues of the twilight sky, when very quickly the horizon turned glowing coral-pink-peach before extinguishing itself in purple.

The violet-orange on the water’s glass-like surface in the foreground looked as though it had been applied by paint.

RED SKY AT NIGHT

Last night’s red sky was not today’s sailor’s delight. Is that old adage true more often than not I wonder?

Red sky at night, sailors’ delight.

Red sky at morning, sailors take warning.
