This is an updated version of the old “Freaks Of The Lobster and Crab World Slide Show”. I doubt anyone else has a collection of pictures that they’ve taken first hand of this many mutations.

We get about 2-3 of these mutated lobsters per year. Earlier this year we got a couple with deep blue pigmentation. This one was white.

Minimal Editing- Minimal Commentary- Just A Slice Of Time On Gloucester Harbor
Sometimes I take it for granted. I guess it’s easy to do when you look at the same thing day after day after day after day for months on end and after many years.
Feel free to stop down and say hey and check out the harbor. Don’t be afraid, we like visitors and we like people to see what it is we do down here. I heard a recurring theme of people wanting public access on the waterfront. I’m not sure if they are already aware but the Gloucester waterfront is pretty damn accessible if you ask me. I’ve never heard of anyone throwing someone out of their place unless they were making a general ass of themselves and putting themselves in harms way. Just make sure the place is open and we’re around.

Here’s a tip for you that Mark Ring shared with me.
After you steam your lobster snip the tips off the claws with some sturdy kitchen shears and drain the water out over the sink. It will make the eating and clean up after dinner a snap and saves a mess.

Here is Jud McCarthy, father of our lobsterman John McCarthy who owns the Tin Lizzy. The other day John and Jud pulled up after a long day lobstering in not-so-perfect conditions and Jud was head aqnd shoulders down in the lobster tank unloading it
Now I know how broke up my body feels at 40. I can’t even imagine doing the kind of work required to go lobstering at ninety two years old. This is one tough old bird.
