Fun Guaranteed. Giant Tuna Expected. Bluefin Blowout 2017.

This is, without a doubt, the place to be this weekend…starting early this afternoon. Check out the schedule of events in the first few photos below.  Wednesday night’s private event was fantastic…and last night’s Captains’ Party was no joke at all.

Be certain to come down at some point, have a great time, and maybe bid on some auction items to help raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association! The Lyon-Waugh Auto Group has gone all out and, as always, Cape Ann’s Marina Resort is the perfect venue.

Captains and crews left the docks late last night or early this morning and hopefully some large tuna will be landed later today.

So, this happened last night!

To kick off this year’s Bluefin Blowout at Cape Ann’s Marina Resort, the Lyon-Waugh Auto Group donated, not one, but TWO BMW i3s to the city of Gloucester!  Warren Waugh made the presentation to Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken and Police Chief John McCarthy to help show Lyon-Waugh’s appreciation and support to the city.  What an amazing gift!

This is the Bluefin Blowout

With four fish landed, lots of  money raised, fantastic music, delicious food and drinks, and a good time had by all, I’d say this year’s Bluefin Blowout was a pretty big success.

If you weren’t able to make an appearance, here is a little video to show you what you missed.

Fat Tuna Brings in a Pretty Fat Tuna

The 2nd fish in at this year’s Bluefin Blowout was landed by Fat Tuna!  Congratulations.

A beautiful fish weighing in at 412 pounds was just a little too small to take the lead from Shark Bait….and was soon outweighed by the Miss Fern’s 536 pound fish that hit the dock just 15 minutes later.  Good showing though!

Miss Fern Takes the Lead Down at the Bluefin Blowout

Third fish in so far in this year’s tournament and now in the lead.

Congratulations to the Miss Fern and her 536 pound bluefin!

Bluefin Blowout: Bidding, Free Samples, Music, and Fun Under the Tent. Now.

At least two fish on their way in, but even before that happens there is a lot of fun to be had down here at Cape Ann’s Marina Resort and the Bluefin Blowout.  The bar is open for business, some vendors are in the house, and the silent auction is bursting with fantastic items!  Tonno is serving up samples….and Lyon-Waugh has some sweet vehicles on display. Scottie Mac is playing some great music and the anticipation is building.

Stevie Corbett Proving That His Product The Chum Cutter Is Tournament Tested! -A Fish Rodeo

This is how you do it! Congratulations again,Stevie Corbett and the crew of the Osprey!

You see that smile?  that’s the smile of a guy that knows he created a brilliant piece of equipment that helped catch him a nice bluefin.

Tournament tested, The CHUM CUTTER!!!!

Here’s Steves brilliant Chum Cutting device-

Our buddy Stevie Corbett designed something so simple, so efficient so time saving for ANYONE that does ANY amount of fishing.  Unless of course you’d rather spend your time chopping up bait for hours instead of getting your lines in the water.
