My View of Life on the Dock
What an amazing day on Sunday to kayak around Kettle Island and Magnolia Harbor.
Took these photos as we were kayaking around the Harbor on Wednesday took some photos of the pier progress and out to Kettle Island. It was beautiful out there but also some great waves.
It may have been September 9, 2019 but the beach is still calling me.
The barge that is rebuilding Magnolia’s Pier was docked near Cruiseport last week.
The barge has been hauled out onto Niles Beach to repair damage. Although in use for the environmental clean up underway at Gloucester Harbor, it is NOT filled with contaminated sand, but with new sand to replace the old sand.
Beautiful Gloucester Harbor in the morning light as the storm was departing.Standing on the pier at I4-C2 HarborWalk.
Harbor dredging clean up continues
I thought everyone would like to know that a photo of mine, Gloucester’s First Wind Turbine, has been licensed for a million-run children’s textbook on wind farming. I think its pretty exciting that our turbine and Gloucester Harbor will be featured not only in one million textbooks, but in the electronic version of the book as well. Upon publication, the publisher is sending a copy of the book and I plan to donate it to the Sawyer Free Library. This photo was shot at daybreak last October while filming the barge transporting the wind turbine through Gloucester Harbor.
Thanks to a google search, I found this very handy Stock Photo License Pricing for Editorial Use chart and it really helped to negotiate a fair price: Photographers Index

One of the three wind turbine blades is lowered down onto the parking lot at Cruiseport Gloucester. By the time I finished my dinner at the Seaport Grill, they had all been moved and the Chem Caribe was cleared off. I was told that the barge had to leave tomorrow, because the dock was reserved for another vessel. So all that needs to be done at Cruiseport is haul the remaining cylindrical tower sections and the blades to the erection site in Blackburn Industrial Park.
