It was freezing, but beautiful at Niles the other day. The one seagull mid-flight was super brave.

Martin Luther King Jr Day is a good opportunity for some reflection. Watching the sea wash in and out again on its steady pace allows your mind free for contemplation. If you can’t watch in person, perhaps these will suffice for today.

Gloucester, Ma.
Before daybreak January 17, 2022 Massachusetts, the MEMA Massachusetts power outage map shows under 5000 out as this wind whipping–and warm here–storm continues, and the morning reports come in. Brownouts by me. Tally about doubled in 30 minutes.

I got the simple porcelain ceramic pour over coffee maker 9 years ago and it has yet to fail me.
There are many reasons why I love this method and I’ll list them:
I want less stuff on our counters, not more.
Here’s a link to purchase one- https://amzn.to/3FskLMF

I use it with a small electric water kettle that stores away easily as well, link to purchase here- https://amzn.to/3Ietns1
9 years going and I make at least one coffee a day in it. By my calculations it’s saved me thousands by home brewing at a cost of under 35 cents per cup to brew at home.
The flatter surface is difficult to click on the new clickers while the older clickers are much easier to use. I’d recommend you hold on to your older clickers rather than “upgrade”.

The slightly raised arrow buttons are more of a miss when clicking them than a hit which can be frustrating and lead to a less enjoyable user experience.

Keep your head on a swivel out there folks!

New Saturday Classes
With the proliferation of Omicron I decided to add a Nia and Restorative Yoga class on Saturday mornings for Jan and Feb. Nia at 10 AM (come early at 9:30 for chatting. Bring your hot drink and enjoy some socialization.) Restorative Yoga at 11:15 AM. The links are on the zoom class page of the website. We had a large number of people attend the classes on New Year’s Day so I thought I’d continue it till covid quiets down. We are so done with you covid!!!!
Current Nia Routine: Disney Songs
This Disney routine focuses on the hands and feet. The body parts we take the most for granted, until they are painful.
So join us and we’ll have fun singing and dancing to Disney Songs. Here’s a sneak preview of one of my favorite finds, an a cappella version of“I Wanna Be Like You”from…

I recently ordered this rack from Amazon for a little less than $50. The sale included an offer for “expert assembly” costing an additional $125 (you read that right…$125 to expertly assembly a towel rack…) I offered Jim a beer and it was assembled in about 10 minutes. It’s a crazy world we are living in……gotta wonder who orders $125 expert assembly for a towel rack? I will admit, there have been some late Christmas Eves when I would have gladly paid for toy assembly…….but not a towel rack. Really Amazon? C’mon…….
