Lully Schwartz: RAA Member Artist Solo Exhibition

Rockport Art Association & Museum is pleased to announce an exhibition of recent paintings by Lully Schwartz. The exhibition will open 25 June and remain on view through 14 July 2022.

Exploring a range of subject matter, Lully Schwartz creates oil paintings that capture the light of summer with a spectacular range of colors.  Rich strokes of paint combine abstract qualities with realism to form Lully’s signature style of art.  Beach bathers, bold flowers and brilliant ocean surfaces seem to convey the artist’s love for sun-soaked moments found in Rockport and beyond.   “I paint the color of light with all its complexities, moments of joy, pain and beauty” explains Lully of her recent paintings.  This exhibition offers the audience visual art that reimagines Cape Ann from a contemporary perspective.

LULLY SCHWARTZ (b. in Beverly, MA) graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 1983 and today paints and teaches from her studio known as the North Shore Atelier.

Numerous past solo exhibitions include ‘Paris Work”, French Cultural Center, Boston; “Mid-career Retrospective” Gateway Gallery, Portsmouth, NH; and “Smith Cove Paintings”, Gloucester, MA.

Group Exhibitions include Christie Street Gallery, NYC; Atlantic Wharf Gallery, Boston, MA; Prince Street Gallery, NYC; Mill Pond Gallery, Long Island, NY; JL Newbury St. Gallery, Boston; Cornell Museum of American Art & Culture, West Palm Beach FL; New York Public Library, NYC and more.

Summer Office

This kid’s summer office. If he could sleep in it, he would. Cooler for drinks/snacks, 3 rod holders, net, live-bait bucket, live well to float the fish he catches, safety whistle, anchor, shammies, pedals to make it hum along and keep his hands free for casting, a bow light, etc. Fish on, buddy.

Filmmaker Ken Burns (The Civil War) comments that curator/author William Cross “has done an admirable job bringing to life this most American of painters. Finally, Winslow Homer’s brilliant work and fascinating life are united in one volume.

Current Nia Routine: Linda’s Favorites

Come join me as we visit some of my favorite cuts from Nia routines over the past 7 years. Lots of fun music and moves.

Moving to Heal Thursdays at 1:30 PM

Moving to Heal Nia is a slower, less intensive class with less standing and more done in the chair. Great for people with injuries or conditions that make it hard to participate in a classic Nia class. Also good for people getting back into exercise.
