We celebrated Margarita Monday at Tonno on Main St in Gloucester last week and think you might want to consider the same for tonight. It’s always a pleasure to go to Tonno for the delicious food, excellent service and friendly atmosphere. We had made a reservation but decided to go early and sit at the bar so we could have something from the Bar Bite menu. We were accommodated with an easy smile and enjoyed our time at the bar among old friends and new.
I tried a pineapple margarita (yum). Jim had a Veal Milanese Bar Bite along with his Chicken Parmesan entree. I had my new Tonno favorite Chicken Milanese. Our meals were satisfying and tasty. Our friend Joey recently reminded us that summer is going quickly so we need to take advantage while we can and Margarita Monday is one way we celebrate summer. Thanks Tonno for the assist in celebrating summer!

The Sawyer Free Libraryis pleased to offer an author talk with New York Times Bestselling author Liz Moore as she discusses her international bestseller, Long Bright River, and her other works.
The virtual event will take place on Tuesday, August 9 from 9:00 to 10:00pm.Register here to receive the zoom link.
The novel takes place in Philadelphia, where Moore has lived for a decade. She traces the story of two sisters estranged from each other but bonded by their choices. Mickey is a cop, and Kacey lives on the streets in the vice of addiction. When Kacey disappears, Mickey panics over her sister’s safety—obsessed with finding the culprit and her sister before it’s too late.
Drawing on deeply personal volunteer work, Liz Moore spins a story that is both graphically honest and dignified. Long Bright River puts a very human face on the effect that addiction…

Hi Joe,
I’ve attached a photo of a pigeon that has taken up residence under my bird feeder at 2 Banjo Way in West Gloucester. It’s been here a few days now. It’s obviously used to people as it walks right up to me when I’m in the yard and he has a couple of bands on his legs.
I’m hoping that one of your readers knows something about pigeons and can come collect him before a coyote gets him.
Thanks Miles

We took advantage of the Tuesday special ticket pricing for an afternoon sail on the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon. It’s buy one, get second at half price on Tuesday in July and August and I highly recommend considering this treat for yourself or perhaps for visitors. There are other opportunities to save money on ticket prices as well, so check them out.
The 90 minute sail around the harbor is relaxing and low key: just right for hazy lazy summer afternoons. Captain Heath and his staff make the experience fun and informative. We had a birthday celebration, visitors from Maine and the other cape along for our ride recently. And it’s so darn gorgeous out there, it’s hard to resist. Thanks Captain and crew for an awesome sail!

Enchanting! Did you see them tonight too?
