My View of Life on the Dock

For some reason my earlier post about the Bird Buddy did not include all the text I intended so here’s an update. I have never been intrigued enough by a kickstarter campaign to jump in until I saw this Bird Buddy. I had been thinking about a gift for Jim, so I jumped on it. I waited through 2 birthdays, a Father’s Day and a Christmas but it finally arrived and we are very happy with it. They are now commercially available, although they are a little pricey for a bird feeder. Makes a nice gift though. Easy to install, friendly app. Here’s how it looked for our experience:

The unit is well made, sturdy and easy to install. The backyard birds are posing nicely and we are having a grand time with it. For a bird feeder, it’s a little pricey but for a gift for a special someone…..worth it!

A beginning can often come from the most unlikely of places. Sometimes you are forced into them, sometimes you stumble into them, and still, there are other times when you choose them. However you come to you it, a new beginning is always full of challenges and possibilities.

It was a 3 series Tesla, the driver said they paid $46,000 for it . I asked Kate which would you rather have, an entry level BMW or this car. The screen was large and high def, there was no clutter at all, it was spacious and elegant. Big three automakers should be ashamed of themselves. They should fire every automotive interior stylist.
I don’t know how an upstart auto manufacturer can absolutely destroy auto manufacturers that have had decade upon decades of time to refine their vehicles.
I want to learn more about these cars.

Lots of activity near the Hammond Castle. Thank you Beth Welin for the information.
An independent film company making a fictional film of an art heist inspired by the Isabella Stewart Gardner heist. They have a ton of replica masterpieces set up in various rooms. They will be there until Thursday night. I decided to come back home and work here instead of being trapped up in the archive room for the whole day. I will go in again Thursday and get to see the Great Hall all decked out as they finish up. It was piled with stuff this morning so couldn’t see how it will look during the filming. Have no idea who’s starring in it. The actors weren’t there yet when I was there this morning.

The recently relocated and redesigned Vietnam Memorial now has military flags flying to honor our local Vietnam veterans and those who lost their lives in the conflict. A ceremony is scheduled for 11:30 today at the new Stage Fort Park location near the tennis courts. The Veterans’ Day ceremony at the high school is scheduled for 9 AM and this event will follow at 11:30 am. It’s absolutely beautiful and thoughtfully designed for contemplation and remembrance and I hope you can stop by today or sometime soon to take a look. Stop, Reflect, Honor.
