Pink Tango…

For 26 years Rockport New Year’s Eve, Inc. has hosted a “small town, BIG celebration” consistently described as “Simply Amazing” by thousands of attendees who enjoy great music, fabulous performers, and rich variety at multiple venues within easy walking distance of each other in Downtown Rockport. We look forward to doing it again on December 31, 2023.

Big events like this require many people who love to work side by side to create joy, fun, and an amazing experience for family, friends, the greater Cape Ann Community and beyond. It all starts in the spring and continues right up to Dec. 31. The work is both rewarding and fun.

Our small RNYE team of dedicated volunteers knows how to create miracles, but we need your fresh input, new ideas, and energy so this coming First Night will be the best ever. Not sure where you would fit in? No worries. Interest and willingness to make a difference are all it takes – and the time commitment is up to you. Specifically, we look forward to your assistance with any of the following:

Interested? Want to learn more? Please join us for an informal session on Wednesday, April 26 at 7:00 PM in the Morgan Room at the First Congregational Church (12 School St., Rockport). Kindly RSVP by clicking the button below. We will be happy to answer any questions.
We look forward to hearing from you. The future of our amazing “small town, BIG celebration” requires more of us working together to keep it going. Yes, we need you. And, YES, you will have fun.

Craft Fair to Support Special Need Dances
Place: Gloucester Fraternity Club
Date: April 23, 2023 Time: 11-4pm

We hope that people will support this event to raise money for the Special Needs Dances held at the Elks. Our son Yianni and his friends absolutely love and look forward to these wonderful dances that are put on by volunteers from the Fraternity Club!
My wife Anna who owns Cape Ann Sea Salt Co. will be one of the vendors. It will be a great opportunity for local vendors to kickstart the season and for buyers to get their Mother’s Day shopping done all while supporting a fantastic cause!
Thank You,
James Eves

The gatekeeper at Magnolia Woods trickily relocated perhaps for a better viewpoint, perhaps as a security technique. After all, it’s good practice to be unpredictable in security measures, right?

Stage Park before noon 4/22/2023: Dog park clean up was active. Canon status as is. Kids breaking in the street hockey rink.
Link to prior GMG post BEFORE photos through the years of the cannons and site design (incl 1870, 1921, 1930, 1973, and 2019). The cannons were removed for restoration in 2019 from grounds that were restored and completed back in 1973 by the 187th Infantry Brigade– and in time for the city’s 350th celebration. That vision was hoped for over many decades and emulated how the fort looked in the 1700s.

Great turn out for the dedication of the Street Hockey Rink at Stage Fort Park. A big thank you goes out to all the committee member, volunteers, the city of Gloucester, The Boston Bruins and the generous donations of the citizens of Gloucester. It looks so pretty and fun. Ken Knowles, Rockport artist, did an amazing job on the center ice Bruins’ Logo.

“We had a great group of volunteers that came out and worked hard and fast today to collect over 15 bags of trash in a relatively short period of time at the State Fish Pier and at the head of the harbor. For people who want to do their own part and can’t be part of a group cleanup, you can pick up yellow bags at the DPW, collect trash, and report the location of the full bags using the app SeeClickFix.” – Jamie Mathison- One Ocean Shop
