Oh What a Night!

You all know Jenn Cullen, who's on the left. Jenn lives on the Fort, and does some work at Sugar Magnolias. The other FOB is Lidiane Sands, who's originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil. She's also employed at Sugar's, and is raising her family in Lanesville, married to a Gloucester native.

During the opening, we were entertained by the Old Folks Novice Acoustic Jam. Two or three of the players are GMG names you may recognize: Marty Luster, Len Burgess, and James Eves. Anyone is welcome to play with them. This was their first public appearance.

Passports Fish Taco- 5 Stars

The Fish was still crispy and had the perfect medley of sauce and fresh toppings.  Brough the girls for lunch and the children’s meals were cheap and they gut up the grilled chicken so when it hit the table we could all eat instead of the parent having to cut up the kids food first.  Nice!

Frickin killer!

Joey ~

I spoke with Police Chief Leonard Campanello today about the Rogers St. construction site where the stairs once were. The official plan is for 5 to 10 new parking spaces and some pleasant landscaping to be completed by Spring 2014. The work is being done by Gloucester Dept. of Public Works under the the direction of Mike Hale.

The entrance to the GPD/Courthouse will be via the stairs that now exist from the current parking lot on Rogers St.

Yet another great
Gloucester Business
Sears…? Yes.
Ed at Sears on Eastern Ave
sold me a terrific vacuum.image
Guided me to the sale item –
great price, great vacuum.
But had a little problem with the
wheel. Ed not only offered to fix
it but ran out to the hardware
store to get the right kind of
screws.
Long time later, I had another
little glitch. Vacuum just
stopped cleaning. So, I asked
Ed. He took it apart, found a
“catnip mouse” in the tube, and
put it back together. You’ll
never get service like that in a
big store.
Wow! Thanks Ed.
So, shop Sears in Gloucester,
and talk to Ed.

Flock Rock

Hi Joey,

We had a flock of seagulls (not the ‘80s band) visit the cove to take shelter from the East wind on this rock last week.

Enjoy!

11 Days Before Christmas Song ~ “The Season’s Upon Us”

If you aren’t already, to get us  in the mood for the holidays ~

I am patting myself on the back as all my gift boxes to friends and family far and wide are in the mail a few days earlier than usual. Hooray! Next hurdle is wrapping up design projects for client’s homes before Christmas, and then family time! I love getting together with loved ones during the holidays, but sometimes it can be a challenge. Then the thought of having a Dropkick Murphy’s kind of Christmas makes me laugh and I realize that, in comparison, nothing is unnavigable!

“The Season’s Upon Us” was submitted last year by GMG FOB Kathy. What is our favorite holiday song?

Fun night at GMG party at Fred Bodin

Thank you Fred for again hosting the GMG party. Great time had by all.

Long Story Short

catinwindow

Stella, our dog, small brain, but good memory of scary experiences. For example, four years after stepping in a puddle on the first granite step of the porch she still refuses to step on it. Pauses, then leaps over the steps. THERE ARE ALLIGATORS IN PUDDLES AND THEY WILL EAT ME!
Last spring Stella looking out front window making sure the dogs and dog walkers are leaving her yard. (When they enter she hides but as soon as they are moving away our super hero might even bark once.)
She is doing this one night and a cat who has been on the porch sticks her head up right in Stella’s face. Stella has a doggy heart attack but does get off a bark once the cat has split. Then for several weeks she is parked at that window waiting for the return of the demon cat. Bored one night, I whip off a cat silhouette on the band saw, sneak out on the porch and stick it in Stella’s face. Endless amusement. After a half hour I stopped figuring Stella might have a stroke if I kept it up.
Stuck the silhouette in the shop window which has no heat and this morning thought I might try a Len and shoot some ice crystals.
But I may have learned something. We had an insane cat bird who would slam into our windows in the spring. I think he was attacking the interloper he saw as a reflection. I think when he comes back this spring the window he hits is the one I put the cat in. Or Rubber Ducks. Not the Rubber Duck but I have enough ducks to put in every window. Shoot, I could put an LED light in each and be ready for Festivus.
As always, click twice to embiggen, an iPhone in Rockport.
