DAVID WILSON’S Retires from the NFL at 23 years old

What a great attitude for such a young Guy.

You have too read the whole article. Now this Kid is a great Role Model!

DAVID WILSON’S Retires from the NFL at 23 years old;

“Hey everybody. I’m not really prepared to answer a lot of questions today but I’ll try to do my best on some of them. I’m going to start by saying that at a young age I had a dream to play in the NFL. I did that, I played in the NFL and I scored touchdowns and I broke tackles and I broke and set records. I practiced with my teammates, got to play for Coach Coughlin, got drafted by the Giants. So at no point should anybody feel like this is over because in life everything has obstacles. We all go through our own obstacles every day. The main thing is, when you’re going through those obstacles, to stay focused and embrace faith and keep your dreams. Even if one dream seems to fade away, set another goal and set another dream and try to reach that. That’s the main thing.”

Gloucester Sidewalk Bazaar No. 56!

The 56th annual Gloucester Sidewalk Bazaar begins at 9 am and is open until 5 pm Thursday, August 7th. It continues again on Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th. Main Street in Downtown Gloucester is closed to all vehicles, and vendors of all types line the street from Prospect Street to Washington Street. Dance and musical performances take place all day. This is a great event for children and for grown up-bargain hunters. Enjoy! Painting by "Painter Barb," my sister.

Hi Joey,

Thursday was a ‘wicked’ day at GMR.    Dave Marciano of Wicked Tuna fame had his Hard Merchandise go back in the water after Donny King did some maintenance on her.   Stephen Coady, pipe ever ready, was busy working on his Boston Pilot, who is up on the railway.   Restoration work continues on the Phyllis A.  The Francesca & Carlo was looking so cute next to the Caterina G, and Gret Webster’s Stone Horse got a new name.

Joe "The Animal" Barboza Baron, Thachers and Straitsmouth Islands and long distance ocean swimmers

Adam Bolonsky submits-

Mitchell Hsing and Isabel Brachmann, grad students at MIT (who said only nerds go to MIT?) recently swam the perimeter of Straitsmouth Island from Gap Head in less than 25 minutes. Their coach Bill Steele and I escorted them in kayaks.

Fish tacos afterwards at Cape Ann Brewing Company!

Here’s a video clip. You can clearly see Twin Lights at Thachers and Straitsmouth Island light in the background:

Joe “The Animal” Barboza was flown to Thachers Island each night by helicopter in the late 60’s while testifying against the New England mob. When Barboza’s cover at Thachers was blown, federal marshals moved him to a house on Eastern Point.

Barboza was gunned down a few years later in Southern California.

This was back in the day when the Coast Guard radio station at Gap Head was still in operation.

HenriPoster_600Aurelia Nelson of North Shore 104.9 is doing it again … yup she’s bringing her prize wheel down to the Sidewalk Bazaar tomorrow (Thursday) and you can win 2 tickets to see Henri Smith New Orleans Friends & Flavours feat. Grammy-winner Amadee Castenell at the Celebrate Gloucester Benefit Concert to help raise money for the Cape Ann YMCA Camping & Teen Services.

There’s no cost, no catch.

Just spin & you could win to tickets to see Henri Smith, who almost always sells out when he performs on the North Shore!

That is how many days ago Thatcher ditched the diaper….and how many days have gone by since I have had to either wipe the toilet seat…or suffer the consequences.

802 days into it, the little guy followed suit and the battle was officially lost.
