There’s a New Slice in Town
Seaside Pizzeria on Railroad Avenue in Rockport!
So, I guess they’re not totally new, but they are new to the Schrafft family. I think they opened a few months ago, but we went for the first time 2 weeks ago. Sadly, we scarfed down our pizza before thinking to take a photo. Sooo, we had to order it again last night.
YUM.
We got a large pizza with ricotta, linguisa, and eggplant. My husband, who does not throw compliments around all willy nilly, said that it might have been his favorite pizza ever. Them are some pretty big props, Seaside Pizzeria, I assure you.
Our bill came to $17.something. Not cheap, but not expensive….and, either way, worth every single penny.
For the record, they also deliver.

ADDISON GILBERT HOSPITAL Announces $75,000 Grant
Funds will support capital equipment, help match Dusky Leadership Challenge
On the heels of being awarded a $1.2 million Health Policy Commission CHART grant to build on the successful implementation of its High Risk Intervention team, Addison Gilbert Hospital (AGH) has been awarded a $75,000 capital grant from an anonymous Boston-based foundation. The grant will support capital enhancements and new equipment to improve care for patients and increase clinical excellence in the Cape Ann community.
“As a not-for-profit hospital, Addison Gilbert depends upon contributions like this to invest in our hospital and deliver services to keep our community healthy,” said Cindy Cafasso Donaldson, Vice President, Addison Gilbert Hospital. “We deeply appreciate the philanthropic support that keeps our hospital thriving. This generosity will ensure AGH stays at the forefront of medical care for local patients and residents of Cape Ann.”
The grant is also helping the hospital reach the $350,000 Dusky Leadership Challenge set forth earlier this year by Linzee Coolidge, a trustee of the Dusky Foundation. The Dusky Leadership Challenge raises money for AGH in to invest in new equipment, technologies and programs that will help it keep pace with a rapidly changing health care landscape.
In February, Mr. Coolidge, made an initial $350,000 gift and challenged the community to match it through contributions. The goal of the Dusky Challenge is to raise money for Addison Gilbert Hospital and to encourage leaders from the community to support the hospital.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Boston-based foundation for this grant,” said Rebecca Imperiali, Vice President of Philanthropy at Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals. “It is through the generosity of organizations and individuals in the community, just like this, that AGH has been so successful. The Dusky Leadership Challenge has been a compelling tool for encouraging and inspiring additional contributions for the capital and clinical needs of Addison Gilbert Hospital.”
Hi Joey: Could you possibly tell me where I might get some information on Gloucester artist R. P. Fraser and his paintings? Also artist David Pollack? Many Thanks for any information. John Reardon,Winthrop,Ma.
Packed House For Glazed Opening At Art Haven
Flashback Friday
Last Sunday afternoon I met two of my very best friends for lunch in Boston, a luxuriously fun four hour champagne lunch I should add. Claudia lives in Lexington with her family and Donna lives in Hollywood Hills with hers, and is in Massachusetts working on the Disney film The Finest Hours for another month or so. We are trying to cram as much time together as our work schedule’s allow. There was a great deal of wedding talk, with our daughter Liv’s pending June wending. I made both Claudia and Donna’s wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses, and Claudia and I were bridesmaids in Donna’s wedding. Liv watched all the “bride fairy princesses” coming and going for fittings and was the flower girl in several of our friend’s weddings. From that very early age she has been say, “You’re going to make my dress too Mom.” I’ll be dusting off my dressmaker’s form, drafting and draping when she is home for the holidays!
Above is a snapshot that my husband Tom took in front of our apartment on Comm. Ave of my best friends and I. We were trying on the samples of the very first spring collection that I designed. Donna is on the far right standing next to me. Claudia wasn’t there that day but I found this album cover that she modeled for her friends the Lemonheads.

DCS/Fisher Paykal Stands Behind Their Products with the Help Of Authorized Vesoc Inc. Repair Service
Meet George “My New Kitchen Savior”
George from Vesco Inc. High End Appliance Repair Services, an official DCS/Fisher Paykal authorized repair service company Is “My New Kitchen Savior!”
Yesterday I had a reassuring phone conversation with Kevin from Vesco Inc. about my urgent need to have my DCS/Fisher Paykal appliances back in working order STAT! Kevin promised to have George his best service repair employee at my home today between 10:30-12:00 and also promised that Vesco Inc. would do what ever it takes to get “Sista Felicia’s Kitchen” back up and running in time to rock out some new “Holiday Recipes & Online Videos.” This morning pricelessly at 10:30 am Coconut began barking like crazy by the front door as George walked towards our entryway holding his black tool chest . After quickly glancing at my cell phone for the time, I thought to myself, wow it’s 10:30, this service appointment is definitely off to good a start. As Coconut and I led George to the kitchen, I asked George if Kevin or the customer service department at DCS/Fisher Paykal had explained to him that I and GMG’s 65,000 Plus daily viewers anxiously await a working kitchen!
Stand by for an update on a the progress of a fully working DCS/Fisher Paykal kitchen next week when George returns with needed parts and further service repairs!
***I highly recommend using Vesco Inc. for service on any High End Kitchen Appliances!**

Show your love for Gloucester’s Rock Star, Jon Butcher, right down the road in Beverly tomorrow night

Rock stars just keep coming to Gloucester. First it was T Max, publisher of The Noise, New England’s longest running music magazine. (See a series of videos we shot promoting Gloucester’s music scene here.)
Then Jon Butcher moved to Gloucester and you could see him acoustic at Jalapenos, Rhumb Line and Shalin Liu. Tomorrow, his band, The Jon Butcher Axis, releases their newest CD at a very special — and very much plugged in — CD Release Concert right down the road at Beverly’s Larcom Theatre.
In addition to music from his new CD, you’ll hear tunes from “Kiss the Sky”, a feature film directed by Norman Lang, produced by Bill Rosenthal (who will appear with the band tomorrow on keys) and starring Jon Butcher and Tara Buck Pierce (of HBO’s hit series “True Blood”). Jon has been commissioned to score the film, which is shooting in Boston, New York, Miami, London and Reykjavik Iceland through mid-2015. You can still get tickets here — and the best available seats are in the balcony here. So bop on down the road to Beverly tomorrow and catch a true rock star up close and personal. Here’s some stellar guitar work from his Larcom Theatre concert last April:

If You Could, What Would You Do?
I ask my students to do some journaling each day. Some days it is just “free write” and they can write about whatever they please. Other days they need to answer a question or address a writing prompt.
The other day I asked them, “If you could do something that you’ve never done before, what would it be?”
Their answers were adorable…because they’re in elementary school…and really, they have their whole lives ahead of them, and could have chosen a billion different things…and because, there isn’t much they actually have done yet.
But, it made me think.
What would I do that I’ve never done before?
Well….
1. Swim with a whale
2. Be good enough to sing (and well) for a crowd. In fact, I can’t sing at all and SO badly wish I could.
3. Surprise some of the most important people in my life with the most amazing surprises.
I could go on and on.
What about you?
If you could do something you’ve never done before, what would it be?
