Apothecary Suil Crow Spreads Its Wings: Iconic Rockport

After four years of enchanting the community of Rockport, Apothecary Suil Crow is preparing for a magical new chapter. Owner and Ipswich resident Rebeccah Pearson has officially signed a lease for the shop’s new home at 153 Main Street, the site of the former Weathervane.

The move marks a significant expansion for the apothecary, which has become a beloved North Shore “destination spot” known for its blend of Olde World charm, community activism, and mystical flair.

A Legacy of Healing and Community

Since its inception on Cape Ann, Suil Crow has been more than just a retail space. Under Pearson’s leadership, it has served as a sanctuary, offering:

  • Community Roots: From an outdoor food pantry and community herb garden to a well-attended craft fair for three years in a row.
  • Education & Artistry: Year-round courses held on the patio and inside the shop, fostering local artistic talent.
  • Global & Local Treasures: A curated collection featuring over 25 local crafters, plus unique finds from England, Ireland, and Scotland.

“It was time to move into a larger location,” says Pearson. “Though we love Rockport, it was time to spread our crow wings and fly into a new town where we felt would be a brighter home and the perfect fit.”

What to Expect at 153 Main Street

The Gloucester location will continue Pearson’s mission of “bringing the elements of the outside in.” Visitors can expect a rustic, enchanted atmosphere filled with:

  • Handcrafted Goods: Artisanal candles, homemade preserves, seasonal floral wreaths, and Pearson’s own artwork.
  • Curated Decor: Baskets, throw pillows, blankets, and an “unusual collection of oddities.”
  • Expanded Services: In addition to daily Tarot readings, the new space features a secluded area for Reiki and Sound Energy Healing with local practitioner Dan Ryan.
  • Coming Soon: The debut of “Witches Brew” soda!

A Heart for Cape Ann

Pearson, a practitioner of Olde World Folk Magic for over 40 years, is perhaps best known for her deep commitment to local families. For the past four years, she has spearheaded a Yule Gift Giving program. Last year, with the help of residents and local partners like Americold and Wolf Hill, the initiative provided gifts to 527 children.

“The holidays are filled with giving to those that need it the most,” Pearson notes. She confirmed the tradition will continue for a fifth year in Gloucester, adding with a smile, “Santa will definitely be around… after a visit from Krampus, of course.”

Grand Opening & Timeline

The move is expected to be completed by May 1st, just in time to celebrate May Day. To ensure a seamless transition for her “faithful shoppers,” the Rockport location will remain open while the Gloucester shop is being prepared. Fans and newcomers alike are encouraged to follow Apothecary Suil Crow on Facebook for updates on the upcoming Grand Opening celebration.

“Magic comes in all forms, it’s not all about spells and candles, it’s also about community and connection with life around you” says Pearson. “We are hoping our magic will bring love to those in Gloucester for many years to come.”

Help Robyn & Charlie Rebuild After Devastating House Fire
Our hearts are broken for Robyn and her son, Charlie, who recently experienced an unimaginable loss. A sudden house fire destroyed their home, taking with it everything they owned—and tragically, their two beloved dogs, Hank & Bowser.
In a matter of moments, Robyn and Charlie lost not only their house, but the comfort, memories, and sense of security that made it a home. Even more heartbreaking is the loss of their dogs, who were cherished members of their family.
As they begin to process this tragedy, they are now faced with the overwhelming task of starting over from nothing—securing temporary housing, replacing basic necessities like clothing and food, and eventually rebuilding their lives.
We are coming together as a community to support Robyn and Charlie during this incredibly difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help ease the burden and give them a path forward.

First Annual Shuck Off Fundraiser Was A Big Success

We went to The Lobster on East Main St yesterday to have dinner with our guests and check out the First Annual NGOM (North Gulf of Maine) Shuck Off. It was a great event that drew quite a crowd. Kudos to the hard working staff at The Lobster for juggling all the craziness. Here’s the last part of the final round:

Minglewood For The Win

My favorite steak bomb hands down is available at Minglewood. All you have to do is ask for it! The sandwich arrives with freshly prepared shaved steak, onions and peppers surrounded by a crispy crunchy roll. The topper is that the roll is crusty without tearing your mouth into shreds. The second best part is that the sandwich is manageable with two hands and no utensils if you choose. Can you tell it hit the spot for me? Win Win Minglewood! Thank you for another winning menu item.
